QUOTE(rickk @ Jan 31 2012, 10:04 AM) Huh I tot by today midnight already can? Added on January 31, 2012, 10:06 amBut for my opinion, I think that we don't need strikers 1st rather than a tough midfielder to replace Gerrard. Adam's performance is too unstable. And Lucas... Hais... 8AM Malaysian time. Adam was bought to replace gerrard, we got jonjo already as a backup

I don't subscribe to the notion of signing replacements. Gerrard is one of the best midfielders in the world. The fact that Pele said he's walk into any one of Brazil's national sides over the years speaks volumes of how much his talents are appreciated not just at Liverpool, but on a global scale. You will not find a replacement for him whether it be in the form of Jordan Henderson or in the shape of Charlie Adam. Over the years, we've had so much talk about "the next Zidane" or "the next whoever else", I think the search for individuals are in vain. These players are special because they are unique. Let's appreciate our lads as the individuals that they are, and not someone's replacement. Lucas for example has stamped his own mark and made a name for himself by neither emulation Alonso or Mascherano, the players he "replaced".

LIVERPOOL WOULD TAKE TEVEZ ON LOANThe nice, altruistic souls that they are, Liverpool have apparently offered to take that troublesome Carlos Tevez on loan from Manchester City. Which is nice of them, we think you'll agree. That's what The Daily Mirror says anyway. With a bid to swap Andy Carroll for Tevez from someone at least claiming to represent Liverpool laughed out of town, The Mirror reports the club have made a 'cheeky approach' for Tevez. The paper claims: 'Tevez is currently in dispute with City and still pining for a move to AC Milan, but the Italian giants - and all other interested parties - are unwilling to commit to a full-time deal. So Liverpool have joined the queue of interested parties who would take Tevez on loan, paying his £200,000-a-week wages in the process at the cost of around £5million in rent.' Meanwhile, if you want a little more on the Carroll/Tevez swap, The Independent reports on the phone call between this mystery Liverpool person and Brian Marwood, the City big cheese: 'One source suggested Marwood, who was surprised but not interested in acquiring Carroll, responded with a joke along the lines of "throw in Stevie G and we'll think about it,"which brought the brief conversation to a close.' LOL > "throw in Stevie G and we'll think about it,"

surprised how many fans would consider tevez in the team. even for loan. he's a good footballer i agree but shit personality. he's arrogant and selfish, will only disrupt the harmony of the team. with the likes of bellers in the dressing room i would think it doesn't take long before anything happen.
typical LFC to keep the transfer matters behind closed doors. whoever KD decide to buy or dont, i'll support because he knew better than us keyboard warriors

Carra coming to Kota Kinabalu
31st January, 2012 KOTA KINABALU: England’s international footballer, Jamie Carragher, is expected to be present to give his support to the Penampang District Under-12 Futsal Championship organised by the Sabah Sports Board (LSNS) on Feb 18 and 19.
The LSNS Sports Division Manager, Terrance Edward Pudin, said the Liverpool defender would meet football fans in Sabah besides contributing gifts in the form of Liverpool T-shirts and consolation prizes for the top players in the championship.
“The championship is to develop new talents from the early stage and will be the first programme to be held in the Penampang district after its successful implementation in Tambunan, Sandakan, Tamparuli, Keningau and Tawau,” he said in a statement, here yesterday.
Pudin said the carnival, in collaboration with several government agencies including the Sabah State Sports Council, Sabah State Education Department, Sabah Football Association (Sabah FA), the Jamie Carragher 23 Foundation and Kinabalu Reds, would be held at the Football Stadium at the Penampang Sports Complex.
The championship is expected to be opened by the Federal Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, who is also the Member of Parliament for Penampang while Sabah Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin would close the championship.

I'm sure even on loan (tevez, if loaned from city) would let's his football do the talking.
If there is any 'truth' to the gossip

But to fork out 200k pounds a week for a gifted footballer who goes into headlines for wrong reasons, i don't think is worth it. but anyway i doubt this deal will ever materialize.
Henry & Werner wouldn't pay such wages for leasing purposes. Plus, it is only a short temporary solution, not a long term one, unless it comes with an option to purchase at a much lower fee. Anelka made a good impact when he was on loan to Pool, but too bad we didn't sign him when he was at his peak.
