Nope, don't use lock at all, I think its annoying, I just lock my private apps like messaging and stuff

Even if they give you new unit, you'd still have pink spot. Just flash back stock rom via this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

Auto brightness not so good on sgs2 sometimes too bright sometimes too dark.
