Just got my seond figure from HLJ using EMS 4 days total arrived at my home. No customs detain at all.  EMS is the way to go for me. SAL to much hassel with customs about checking anf tax and takes too long too.

Just read this somewhere an it makes sense.

Priority International Shipping (or EMS) will estimate and collect an Import Fees Deposit, and such funds will be used by the carrier or another agent to pay the Import Fees on behalf of you (or the recipient) to the appropriate authorities of the destination country.

I guess that why (SAL + Item) + 15% tax of total almost equals to (EMS + item).
(EMS + item) seems to be cheaper by RM20-RM30.

It sounds very true after the xplanation....
But anyway, it still depends to case by case.....
I have made a shipment using SAL before and didnt get taxed, may be that is a small shipment.....
Anyway, I would prefer EMS, safe and fast.......

As I mentioned above, ya, EMS is safe and fast......
And some more u can keep track on ur shipment. Every destination it arrives, u can check thru the website.....
You can easily check out if the shipment stuck in our 'highly efficient' post office....
I experienced that before......
Luckily I am using EMS, if SAL, then dunno how liao.....

If my items are about RM50..I usually use SAL / normal airmail..and usually no tax coz RM50 stuffs are usually small.

There's once I ordered 2 toys (RM50 each) and a CD (RM60+) all I separate all of them into 3 shipments..shipped via free shipping from Play-Asia..and all pass through kastams biggrin.gif

Just for my reference, any one here manage to get their reserve item when it release in Japan? I just reserved some hot items from Hobby Search which will be release on Oct.

I reserved the item the next day after they add the item in their website. Since this is my first time reserve item online, I worry that they will reserve the items for their regular customer while new customer have to wait.

From experience, using Global Priority (not sure if it's the same with the mode of shipping you used) the fastest was about 1 week, but longest took 2 weeks tops. I hope your item is just stuck in transit somewhere - you know our local PO-lah, can be really unreliable sometimes (my mom sent an INSURED package to the US on my behalf to a friend and more than 1 month later still no news =/).

I want to know how to check my thing at kastam. Because one of my order did't arrive but the seller swear that he already send it. Since the link on the first post for the 'kastam experience" are not valid anymore then I ask here...

it only have limited tracking so basically the tracking itself is useless

Dear, my name here la (disclosed) hehe...

Thank you for using RAINBOW TEN mail order.
We have sucessfully had your payment.
Your order has been shipped today.

The contents and the other details of your order are as follows
---------------------------------------------------------------

BANDAI HGUC77 1/144 RX-79BD-2 BLUE DESTINY UNIT 2
price per unit 1200 yen quantity 1
BANDAI HGUC80 1/144 RX-79BD-1 BLUE DESTINY UNIT 1
price per unit 1200 yen quantity 1
BANDAI HGUC79 1/144 RX-79(G) GUNDAM GROUND TYPE
price per unit 1200 yen quantity 1

Sub total 3600 yen
Shipping & handling 2700 yen by EMS No.EI######JP ( Packed in 1 shipment )
Grand total 6300 yen

so, based on my cc balance, r10 charge me rm177.27
the original r10 quote was 7200 (estimate) ~ rm202.60
so the diff is rm25.33

these kits i saw few weeks back @ TM BTS was about rm65-rm70.
XL selling @ rm69.90 for the BD 2 and 79(G) as BD 1 still not on sale here yet...
so, the diff between HLJ and R10 is 900yen, HLJ quote each @ 1500 while R10 @ 1200..
the shipping is the same for both site...

my previous shipment from HLJ regarding 3 sets of 1/24 rims reach here in 4 days, it was post on the 10th, flew from japan on the 11th, reach msia on the 12th, arrived at my doorstep on the 13th evening, no one at home, picked up at post office on the 14th..

i guess these gundam from R10 will reach on saturday evening based on HLJ's post, so i can only pick them up on monday...haih...

it all depends to which shipping method u choose..
i ordered once from HLJ last week using EMS, it arrived in 4 days, box condition was excellent...
no dents at all..
this morning, got a call from pos malaysia regarding my order from RainbowTen via EMS, my order was confirmed on the 17th, it went for posting on the 18th, arrived @ KLIA around 11.30pm last night which was 19th, today confirmed to reach my doorstep but since they say the box is big and i'm not at home to receive it, i'll collect them 2moro @ the pickup center near my house @ Balakong.
hope the RainbowTen orders are in excellent condition as well..
1 more thing, i used cc and link it to my paypal acc, so far, not a problem...

I think should be quite safe.....
i never buy from HLJ but only from Rainbowten......
Well, so far so good.....
They will provide 2 types of services, SAL and EMS......
For SAL, probably need three weeks but much cheaper and need to take risk ur items box will kemek.....
For EMS, very safe as it provides online tracking numbers and just need around 1 week.
Hope it helps.....

Well..its cheaper for some products..you need to compare them..sometimes they are almost the same price..

So its better to get them locally if buying online is the same price as buying locally..

EMS is better but who knows..maybe the figure you ordered already got manufacturer defect..
