Just attended Alpha flash workshop and been know the draw backs of the cameras, Nex cameras could not trigger the wireless flash unit and the max shutter with flash is only 1/160.some more the cameras(Below Nex 7) could not use hotshoe's flash unit  sad.gif

Hope Sony will fix this soon.

hi, im interested to get either the 5n or 7 in the nearest future. how is the battery? what do you have as option for pancake lenses? i used to carry a d300+grip around & it was not fun lolzz which is why im looking for lighter camera.

also i'm looking forward to getting m42 adapter + 85mm helios 85mm 1.5 to play.
*
Solution, get alot and alot of batteries if you are really concerned bout the batteries.

Pancake so far got 16mm, and 24Z which is not actually a pancake, judging from its size.

that doesnt sound good. not even 300clicks?

hmm. 16mm is too wide for a walkaround. carl zeiss doesnt offer any pancakes? like pentax & their limited pancakes.
*
Nope. It's Zeiss you are talking bout, all their lens are usually big except for the M-mount ones.

FW50 cheap cheap nia, get Chromage brand, got electronic contacts inside so can read battery stats, and it cost a mere 80 only..

To note that one ori batt cost bout 2xx....

Roughly 3k++, can get for you if you are interested..

But the Leica counterpart, is way way way way way sharper and more painful to spend on.

I believe bro Albert answered your question clearly tongue.gif

QUOTE(andell @ Mar 15 2012, 03:03 PM)
I think there are few models... but they always ranked NEX around 3-4 places...
OM-D.
X-Pro 1
Panasonic-G3
Nikon-V1
Canon-G1
BTW... Widget... is X100 better iso that NEX 7?
*
Well, for the price for the X 1 pro, I could get the same setup with nex 7 and the zeiss. So, no TQ for X1pro.

OM-D should be interesting, I am waiting for a credible review for this piece.

G3,V1 and others, sensor size already lose out, unlikely to surpass the quality of the nex, sad to say.

G1x from Canon however, could be a competitor if the price is not too pricey.

Not being biased, but for the price of the range of Nex 5n, it's technically the best in terms of value for money and performance.

Of course, people can argue that the X1pro might be better but.......

Already got a Nex 5n as a casual camera, should be able to last till Nex 9 or whatever comes.

Red dot = leica.

I'm still juggling between NEX 7 and E-M5. Money not a huge issue but...

1. sensor size (7)
2. lens size (m5)
3. lens selection (m5)
4. DR (7)
5. mpix (m5, prefer 16mpix max) but cropability (7)
6. IBIS (m5)
7. weather seal (m5)

either NEX 7 + sel1855 + sel50f18 or E-M5 + oly 12-50 weathersealed + oly 45 f1.8. hmmmmm
*
If me, I would get the 7 and pair it with 24Z as my walkaround lens. i think I am happy with this combo since I am spoilt with primes lately..

Or get Nex 7, get adapters and you can mount anything as well....

Sony KLCC price: 5n Body only is RM2199. 5N with Single lens kit -SEL18-55mm is RM2599.
http://shashinki.com : 5N with Single lens kit -SEL18-55mm is RM2389.
smile.gif

Btw, i need some advice regarding NEX 5n.

is the 15-55mm sufficient? to what extent would i need more zoom?

Also, what is the price range for the adapter for this 5n to be able to use other lens? I saw one in Sony KLCC.. one of the adapter selling for about RM600 and another for above RM1k. sad.gif

Appreciate the help.
*
18-55 is enough for normal usage. Unless you know what you want, the 18-55 is pretty good.

LE-EA 1 - the cheaper adapter.

LE-EA 2 - The newer Adapter.

There's alot of difference between the adapters, maybe you should read Albnok's reply earlier.

Perhaps there should be a review/comparison of the LE-EA1 and LE-EA2..

If I had the 24CZ I wouldn't be selling it already! Haha. So, before I get poisoned too much, best get rid of it, and move on with my initial plan!

Added on March 22, 2012, 4:55 pm

That's right, the 5N has the tendency to under-expose, exactly as you describe it, to save highlights.
Check out this new case!

Not interested yet.

Still prefer the original Noctilux f0.95 that works so fine on a manual film camera tongue.gif

Wahlao... you want to compare Cheapo Hong Kong SLR Magic lens with a RM40,000 lens... slow clap for you bro, comment of the day!

Nobody ish gonna compare em side by side.

Plus, the review from SteveHuff looked promising..

Btw, TechGarage aka Hambone does not bring in the SLR Magic 50mm. I would've known if they have stocks for em anyways.

Feast your eyes, but dun get over-poisoned.

I've seen the Steve Huff review before. I'm sure all of us NEX poisoned people regularly visit his site, or used to.

"Will have a few test units once they're ready to sell to let you try out the differences smile.gif Let us know if you're keen yea!" From TG's FB page. It was when they posted Steve's comparison review (the one you just linked), made a few comments.

Added on March 22, 2012, 11:25 pm

That's what I mean... I was comparing the price relatively. The Noktor is only 10% of the Noctilux... which, relatively, is cheap. But still doesn't change the fact that the Noktor is just a redesigned CCTV lens...
*
Lolz, now is in Pre-order status, guess they don't have it that fast yet.

I shall wait, but nothing will tempt me away from my current setup yet.

Should be interesting, trying to manual focus with it.
