Hi just wanna check how's this deal fair:
I purchased an NEX-5ND at 2699 but the stock came is only with 1855 lens so they promise to order the 16mm for me, I decided that I hardly use a wide angle so asked them to trade the 16mm for SEL50F18 instead, they quote me RM650 for the SEL50F18 after trade in the yet to give me 16mm, is this a fair price?
May I know how many variant of the SEL50F18 are there as they told me the SEL50F18 have no OSS but I think it has right?

Any good Hexas in the 30mm focal range? 50mm doesn't really suit my shooting style The 30mm Sigma E-mount crossed my mind, but the speed isn't exactly that much faster than the kit lens.

2K for a Voigt... I think I'll be staying away from it until I get a promotion or a major pay raise

Maybe because 50mm the subject will be bigger than say 30mm? I'm no optical engineer so I have no idea. Or is the reviewer talking about the same lens but at different focal length?
f3.5 too slow for my liking, f2.8 is same with 30mm Sigma E-mount f2 should be good enough, but the UC Hexanon you mentioned sounds perfect... 28mm (right focal length) and f1.8 (decent speed). I guess the same basic rule applies here: you get what you paid for and good things don't come cheap

if you're shooting wide open@  f/1.4, the dof is shallow and easily to mis-focus your subject. with flash in low light would help. with more light you don't need to rely on f/1.4, hence increase the dof or chance to get sharper shots.

stimix: F1.4 can focus with the NEX-5N - don't rely on peaking alone. Use 7x magnification to double-check and after a while you'll get the hang of peaking. Shutter speed should be fast enough at F1.4 ISO200 giving you 1/160s. (I went today and F4.5 ISO1600 resulted in 1/15s average shutter speed upstairs, and 1/30s downstairs.)

That's great! now bidding for it on ebay.. hopefully can get a good bargain. is this lens good for jalan-jalan snap pics of buildings, people, etc.?

I feel like most of Nex users using MF lens over here, will it a good choice  for it?
