Pictures drill with that Voigtlander 28mm F2.0 or........haha

Added on April 10, 2012, 9:22 amBTW, now my collection also include one 70-200mm Sigma zoom lens. It's very clear but I don't think I will be using it frequently compare to both my Minolta portrait 50/F1.4 and Macro 50/F3.5.

The only time I'm thinking of using this zoom lens when shooting bikinis and even naked sunbathers in those oversea beaches haha

QUOTE(muman7 @ Apr 10 2012, 11:04 AM)
Hi just wanna check how's this deal fair:
I purchased an NEX-5ND at 2699 but the stock came is only with 1855 lens so they promise to order the 16mm for me, I decided that I hardly use a wide angle so asked them to trade the 16mm for SEL50F18 instead, they quote me RM650 for the SEL50F18 after trade in the yet to give me 16mm, is this a fair price?
May I know how many variant of the SEL50F18 are there as they told me the SEL50F18 have no OSS but I think it has right?
*
Yess no OSS. I also thinking of this to replace the slow Manual focus Minolta F1.4 earlier but decided not when I found out no OSS and the review not that great. Anyway, the SEL50F18 is ~ RM1300 and SEL16F28 is ~ 700.. So it's OK kua hmm.gif

Any good Hexas in the 30mm focal range? 50mm doesn't really suit my shooting style laugh.gif The 30mm Sigma E-mount crossed my mind, but the speed isn't exactly that much faster than the kit lens.

2K for a Voigt... I think I'll be staying away from it until I get a promotion or a major pay raise tongue.gif
*
I read some review comparing 30mm & 50mm at the same aperture of let say F1.4, the 30mm will produced a softer but not so sharp focused image compare to the 50mm lens wor

Maybe because 50mm the subject will be bigger than say 30mm? I'm no optical engineer so I have no idea. Or is the reviewer talking about the same lens but at different focal length? hmm.gif
f3.5 too slow for my liking, f2.8 is same with 30mm Sigma E-mount tongue.gif f2 should be good enough, but the UC Hexanon you mentioned sounds perfect... 28mm (right focal length) and f1.8 (decent speed). I guess the same basic rule applies here: you get what you paid for and good things don't come cheap laugh.gif

*
I have found a discussion comparing a 50mm F1.4 Vs 28mm F1.4...good reading haha

QUOTE(cjlai @ Apr 15 2012, 12:13 AM)
if you're shooting wide open@  f/1.4, the dof is shallow and easily to mis-focus your subject. with flash in low light would help. with more light you don't need to rely on f/1.4, hence increase the dof or chance to get sharper shots.
*
Yes exactly I was shooting at F1.4.. Should hv reduce to F2.0 or 2.8 if without flash. blush.gif OK.. Will improve my cacat modelling photos soon.. also probably hand shaking because wife just beside me blush.gif

stimix: F1.4 can focus with the NEX-5N - don't rely on peaking alone. Use 7x magnification to double-check and after a while you'll get the hang of peaking. Shutter speed should be fast enough at F1.4 ISO200 giving you 1/160s. (I went today and F4.5 ISO1600 resulted in 1/15s average shutter speed upstairs, and 1/30s downstairs.)
*
OK.. good suggestion on the shutter speed.. probably using 100% manual rather than aperture control blush.gif

Awh.. another ancient minolta 50F1.4 owber spotted haha..

Yeah damn difficult of getting ctr focus at F1.4... My PC fair ah moi shots all failed bcos of F1.4..darnnnnn..The best I think hv to go Manual focus wth better control on shutter speed? (Probably high ISO & fast shutter to avoid ctr out of focus?)

Yes I got this lens (70-210). Yes it's good and surprisingly clear at super zoom level. But I seldom use it.. Thinking of selling this off haha.

That's great! now bidding for it on ebay.. hopefully can get a good bargain. is this lens good for jalan-jalan snap pics of buildings, people, etc.?
*
I dont think it's good for Jalan-jalan bcos of the manual feature & no OSS/ AF.. It's means for static object for sure haha.. if movement for sure not sharp dy biggrin.gif

I feel like most of Nex users using MF lens over here, will it a good choice  for it?
*
Other than what Lina said which I agreed 100%, what AF can't do is the retro feeling of turning/twisting the aperture ring or pulling the the zoom level for telephoto lens haha...
