I'm newbie in photography.. I like DSLR but its bulky and decide to pick M4/3 cuz can get same picture quality in compact size.. Interested in taking a snapshot of Gunpla's, Potrait photography, Landscape, Streets, candid snapshot.. For Nikon J1 some of my friend said it was not worth it cuz the quality is almost like EPM1 that cost 400bucks cheaper.. read it on the internet got problem on J1 battery life.. I've tried GF2 and quit attracted to the design Some said for stable body can choose Olympus but for fast AF can go for Nikon.. I like fast autofocus cuz i'm "Happy Trigger" type and like to snap a candid.. Any suggestion for below 2k budget Compact Digital Camera..

Sony won't be too pricey?

The lens cant be change with other type if let say i want to use for macro purpose can i change to macro lens? or its fix Bright F1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens?

as good as interchangeable macro lens? if i want to use for portrait or landscape?

ya i know but what i mean the quality cannot be match with interchangeable lens right? so still better go for interchangeable wasn't it?

Guys I'm looking to get a compact camera for my studies in the US. Not bringing my EOS 60D because too bulky, same goes for micro four-thirds. Any recommendations? Coming from a DSLR, image quality is quite important to me. Zoom isn't that important though. Budget RM1000-1500

actually I'm seriously considering Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V, LUMIX LX5 or the LUMIX ZS20. they are about the same price as the XZ-1 and S95.  you used any one of them?

Can't decide between Sony nex F3 and Nex c5. Or are there other cameras worth recommending within these lines ?

so the price i assuming will be even more expensive? the C3 we talking about is the price at RM2.3k to 2.5k that one rite?

The pro's of the K-30 is as you might already know, advertised as weather-proof so that's something you can't find elsewhere at this price point.
It's also using a Sony sensor so by default, that should be good.

However, the cons is that unfortunately Pentax these days are some what a niche... so if its lens (be it their own or 3rd party) is not exactly common place especially 2nd hand.

And then it's that look and feel of the K-30. It's either love or hate.

Regarding A65.... everything is there spec wise but... and a very big but ... is if you're ok with using an EVF on a dslr body (smaller mirrorless no choice la).

The good thing about EVF is that you immediately see your exposure. There's even a live histogram in it so bye bye guesswork.

The cons is that even while its the best EVF around, its still essentially a small LCD screen in a tunnel = you can't really see the whole tonal range as you would with a mirror through the lens.

If you're in KL, then just go to Times Square Nikon showroom... have a play with the cameras... then head to the Sony shop and play the DSLT and NEX they have displayed there. That's the best way to decide

Need some help here, any one know which is the best from this 3?

1. Pentax Optio WG-2
2. Olympus TG-1 iHS 
3. SONY CYBERSHOT TX10.

Need to buy a compact cam to be used in a very tough enviroment. but puzzled between this 3. Main job, is to snap a running gears (big gear, usually used in heavy industries) in a closed gear rim cover (its dark in there).
