QUOTE(szern @ Apr 1 2013, 03:48 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « You're gonna be hard-pressed to find an interchangeable lens camera that's waterproof (none actually comes to mind). Weather-proof there are a few (Panasonic GH3, Olympus OM-D EM-5, Pentax K-30 etc), but these definitely won't fit your budget (way more than 1k). Waterproof, quite a few too (Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Nikon etc), but these are mainly Compact Cameras. With a 1k budget, take a look at the Waterproof compacts. Some links to start you off with: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2366987,00.asphttp://waterproof-camera-review.toptenreviews.com/http://www.trustedreviews.com/the-best-wat...f-2011_round-upSample US Pricing (from Amazon): http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=3350171 since mirrorless camera cant really be waterproof besides using casing, then I will just go for compact type. Handy when I need it too. I look around the net already, Olympus camera famous for being tough. Panasonic is playing good on waterproof too, but I doubt on Sony brand Sony design all look like the same LOL...

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 1 2013, 04:58 PM) Olympus Toughs are usually the best waterproof/shockproof/freezeproof in the market, can't really go wrong with them And the performance is pretty good as well when compared to similar compacts from other brands so choosing olympus is better than panasonic and sony? what about its size? seems like olympus is larger than panasonic and sony.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 1 2013, 05:08 PM) I guess the problem with Sony's waterproof cameras is the sliding mechanism... get any small sand particles or debris inside and slide, then you can kiss the metalic paint bye bye Don't expect rugged cameras to be "thin and light" la haha Perhaps you can take a look at the Olympus TG1.. I've read some of the reviews and this one seemed to be the best among the competition olympus TG1 is like the best and first choice for me for the brand olympus but price exceed RM1000 already
