Su-800 is another alternative, only disadvantage is the distance and it need to be as clear as possible to trigger slave, altough i did try to trigger a slave behind a door, it still did.

2470 is slow focusing or slightly faster? never play 85mm before 

Try not to get too close, then you can use center focus and focus-recompose. With more DOF, easier to shoot and have more rooms more slight movement. But further distance would also mean getting other things into the frame which you might not want and you might need to crop it later. If not you can try using smaller aperture to get more DOF.
70-200 I think too tight for indoor and on long focal length, the DOF also thinner, more easy to OOF.

The shoot kids successfully, you need to be good with kids first and foremost. It helps if you manage to get their attention. I took thousands of shots of my daughter and son. Less than 1% can be considered keepers. Yeah, with kids it's all about timing and speed of capturing spontaneity. Primes are damn difficult to shoot. The 24-70mm f/2.8 was a saviour.

It's like this; Baby under certain age, their vision is not fully developed and cannot see well, they're attracted to striking colors, lights, etc. For below 3 months (I think), they see red and black, so they're attracted to these colors and also shapes. For phones/tablets, the display is can be very bright, try not to let them see. Many parents seems to neglect this.
If there is colourful toys, can try use it to attract his/her attention, best to have someone do it while you take the shot.
