previous rom was overcome rom (3.2). much smoother then stock 3.1.
but if compare to stock 3.2, the difference is marginal.

now using kang ics rom.
extremely smooth. if you want comparison in ratings,

stock 3.1 4/10
overcome 3.2 7/10
ics 4.0 8.5/10

*just my opinion. you need to try them yourself and see which one you like.

With the Kang ICS rom, I felt that battery draining is fast, even though my tab is left idle for a few hours (without Live Wallpaper), it went from 100% to about 70%.

Minimal usage I can get 2 days+, mostly on Wifi. Only connected to 3G when going out.

Yours on 3G all the time?

Mine just the Wifi version, even without usage for a day, batt drop from 100% to 30%.

mine also wifi version. how come your battery drain so fast one?
the battery life seems not affected much on ics. i still get a full day use.

just last weekend, i use for browsing (60% brightness) for about 6 hours,
watch an episode of glee (max brightness), by night time before i sleep, still got 15%
wifi was on all day.

not normal to drop from 100 to 70 on idle.

so happen i have my tab with me now. check out the screenshot.
during idle, the tabs consumes a very very minimal amount of battery life. i think it can last for weeks with no use.

the small slope at the begining is cased by
this morning during heavy browsing with 60% brightness
(check fb, HD reader, download 2 videos with tubemate, listen to songs)

if i extrapolate it, you can see that it can last about 8.5 hours for browsing alone.

Added on March 6, 2012, 3:53 pmi use the tab so much this morning, drop from 100 to 95 only.
if yours idle also drop to 70%, i think its not really idle,

some rogue app is running behind.
you can check from the battery settings,
they got list down what app uses the most %.

slightly thicker, heavier.
bigger battery for LTE but same 10 hour usage.

same processor but 2x the gpu, (strangely the resolution is 4x, duno the performance will half or not)
better camera, seriously it cant get worst then the ipad2 cam, so expected to be better.

other than that....really no "wow" factor.

can tab 10.1 play mkv 720p movies smoothly?

i'm waiting samsung to come out with their killer tab.. judging on the minor upgrades/downgrades of the Tab 2 10.1 and the Note 10.1.. there's nth much but just a revised version.

I know for sure there's sth under their sleeves, awaiting to be unleashed..

Actually planning to go to Garage today but just thinking if anyone here got friend who is looking for 2nd hand tab and want to direct nego before I put it in Garage. But anyway, no need for anything cos its been taken care of already.
