Do i need to Wipe my data if i want to upgrade my Galaxy tab 10.1 from Honey Comb (stock rom) to Ice Cream Sandwich Via software update (OTA)? and Is it really that i cant used some of the feature in my tablet (ex: camera) like the one in the first page Ice Cream Sandwich review?

OTA then no need wipe data. But your home screen arrangement will be wiped. Everything works fine, the first page is outdated ady

If i don't wipe the data, is my all application will work normally? because i also heard that the reason that need to wipe is there will be an error on some of the application because the transition from honey comb to ice cream sandwich. Is it true?

How about if upgrade to ICS through Odin based on the firmware from sammobile. Do I need to do the full backup first. Kind of annoying as the Kies connection is not working at all.

I'm just wipe cache and wipe dalvik, most of app can be play without a problem. just an outdated app may cause a prob like fc, just update it solved prob.

Back up ur data, factory reset the tab to factory default, once done, connect again with the laptop/ desktop via kies

yes.. if OTA means its directly from Samsung means they have tested everything and everything will work fine except for outdated apps that do not support ICS. but so far no issues with my apps.

all u heard is comments from custom ROMs, which do not apply to your official ROM.

however, it is recommended to wipe cache and dalvik cache as suggested above. don't wipe also nvm, no issues.

How do I backup the data if Kies is giving the same error as mentioned above? It has to be connected to kies for it to transfer the data right?

Usually I used Titanium backup and copy all the files into hard disk. Not using kies but normal My Computer (explorer) way.

I just updated my gtab 3g to ice cream sandwich using kies with my home mac mini. Everything ran fine. Didnt backup nything n after the update everything is still where its supposed to be. Except for the android keyboard. Its gone, left with the pinyin only? Samsung kyboard still there...

Not seeing much difference. Except now can use chrome. Woohoo!

I did hwever kept d golauncher fr tab, so mebbe thats why dont feel much difference. Browsing with chrome hwever is really gud n fast...
