Any onaokp rom......review on battery lfe
*
I using kang ics. Battery life is great, can last about 8 hours heavy use.
What's your expectation for tablet?

Usually phone under heavy use 4 hours die already,
Tablet got twice the life span, very impressive for me already.

Usually normal working day, I won't get to use more than 8 hours.
Only weekends, I can drain it till battery low before I sleep.

Kang's ICS vs stock 3.2 battery management how? How about live wallpaper performance?
*
I don't use live wallpaper. They are pointless n proven to drain battery power.
but if cn handle them fine. No problem. Jz not all live wallpaper are for tablets, it gets ugly when stretched.

*
try looking here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474971

wait a sec, how come you are looking for that?
didn't you make a cwm backup?

i always make cwm backup when i test new rom.
so if i dont like it, can go back previous rom.
i still keep my stock 3.2, overcome, and previous kang ics release in my pc i think.

haha.

you'll be amazed how easy it is to root your tab.
download 2 small file, one use odin to flash, one enter recovery to flash.
the entire process including download the files not even 15 mins.

i'm still having trouble trying to root my friend's note. in d end not enough time to download the required files, so gave up.

this tab, seriously easy to root. process is fast, required files are small also.
go try it.

saw news that made me very very happy this morning.
http://www.soyacincau.com/2012/05/14/acer-...rrow-at-rm1399/

Acer iconia A510, using tegra3, same spects as transformer prime,
on sale for RM1399 only.

i'm not interested in acer, this tab still use non IPS LCD, pale and ugly like the current iconia tab.

the great news is this lausy tab is 450USD, its sold here for RM1399,
so the Transformer Pad 300, the awesome tablet of my dreams will be <RM1399, hopefully RM1250. definately affortable! woohoooo

transformer pad is similar to transformer prime, just it use mainly plastic instead of alluminium. no more wifi gps issue.

happy~ :-D

ermm bro any try d aokp build b35..???
*
i use aokp build for P7510, wifi only model
this aokp build made by a guy called serramemphis in xda.
its always in the first page of tab10 android development page.

i started using since feb8 build.
constantly upgrade till the latest build. march 4 is the latest build i think

i duno why they keep making new build,
seems same only, no noticable improvement or new features.

the aokp one should be the same only, new builds same as old build, no need keep upgrade if you're happy.

Transformer prime in us is 650 with dock. But here select for 2.2k. I think cheapest for Pad will be 1399.
*
dreams shattered after watching this comparison
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjhufve38r0&feature=g-u-u

seems pad300 is not as good as i think it is.
its so laggy compared to ipad.

really want to support android, but like he said, in tablet market, iOS is better.
but i cant accept the ridiculous limitations of iOS

final choice still android, but not this pad300 anymore, tegra3....haiz.

have to stick to tab10.1 longer until better quad cores appear.

Dudes
I wonder if you gus notice how difficult it is to play video on the stock web browser. Watching imbedded videos on websites are very slow  . But when i use opera, it makes the experience much better. Faster loading and not so slow...comparable to using a laptop. Anybody know why theres a difference? Prffered web browser anyone?

I havent rooted my device, but does it make a difference?
*
really?
my experience is the exact opposite,
opera is unusable at all on tab, its scrolling is way too jerky.
i only keep it because it can download all file types.

i use stock browser, and it plays embedded videos fine.
obviously not as smooth as laptop, but in an acceptable range.

you ask alot GPS questions.

do you seriously use this 10 inch tab as GPS?
its too big and block the driver's view.
not practical at all.

if they release, there will be absolutely no reason to buy the tab2 10.1

marketing strategy. this makes me dislike samsung.

Been using this rom since it came out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425631

although it is writte KANG, but i doubt its aokp, probably its based on CM9, which is aosp.

being a long time user, i notice 2 annoying issues.
1. browser sometimes, very randomly stops working. not that it hang, just refuse to load pages. to solve, just force close it and restart. tabs will be restored, so not a big deal.

2. not able to download big files. if files takes longer than certain time, it will always fail. maybe the wifi dc after the tab sleeps. still same even after i set it not to dc wifi during sleep.

anyway this rom not updated since march 4.
so i tried out this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459287

this is the real aokp, with the rom control feature and all.
its smoother than the previous rom i tried. probably its on 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.3

best part is apps that are for phones, looks better and more natural, the expand feature works much better. minor, but worth mentioning.

also, rom control alows lots of amazing customization.

the most direct and best improvement is the notification bar.
its no long "cut" into half, just bring it up and can access everything including brightness control.

very very good improvement over previous rom.
read in the comments no long have browser issues, hope its true la.

by the way, overclocking to 1.4GHz does cause shorter battery live, but inprove performance, with overclocking, battery live about 5 hours of continuous usage, instead of 8. sigh... cant have best of both worlds.

ah chong,

i really did tried to use the tab as GPS, but there are real problems that made it not practical. not only its not useful, its dangerous as well.

1. its very big, put in the middle really blocks the view.
2. the LCD has very poor sunlight legibility. its not amoled. even at max brightness cant see also, can see reflection only.

a phone is smaller, easier to handle.

contrary to what most people think, bigger screen doesn show much more things. the same image on your phone just get stretch bigger.
i tested with sygic on phone and tab, both shows the same amount of detail.

phone battery will drain fast during GPS usage, just get a car charger and you will be fine.

Quick question...when I put in my Digi postpaid SIM inside...I still dont have a network connection...

When i click on mobile networks in Settings...it asks to insert a SIM card..

Any advise?
*
you kindda ans your own question already. seems like sim card damage. or your sim reader damage.
somehow the tab cant detect your sim.

Help! My 10.1 tab cannot read from USB drives formatted with NTFS format.

I bought this tab just a few weeks ago and the OS says Android 3.2

How do I update to the latest firmware?
*
android 3.2 is the latest, unless you root and flash custom ics rom on it. then you get android 4.0.4

you use usb on the go to read usb drives? its normal cant read NTFS, only fat32 can read.

yea it happened to my rooted tab when I browse on certain web that has heavy flash application....same goes with my wife tab (not rooted)...maybe too much flash make it crashed and force closed?
*
browser fc is common. i get it on a daily basis when using honey comb.
worst part is it doesn remember the tabs that were opened.
it happens randomly. before and after root also same.

using AOKP ics, also sometimes will FC, but much less frequent. maybe once or twice a week.
also if FC, browser remembers all opened tabs, after relaunch, it will open and load back all previous tabs.
so not really a big deal.

Your first android device?

Download Google pin ying from play store, interface may not be the prettiest, but the accuracy is the best.
Same as Google Pinyin in laptop.

Other alternative are baitu input. Go keyboard.
