Just a question...if i jailbroken my device in 5.0.1...can i str8 update to 5.1 using setting or i need to restore 1st only update?

is there anyway to restore just using phone?

i don't think it's possible because your backup file is not in iphone.

i dont think so...even u got backup file on laptop,u still cannot restore to IOS 5.0.1....bcoz apple was not sign it already....
The way to restore to IOS 5.0.1, just using iFaith...TinyUmbrella was not working on IOS 5...

oh ... in such case, how to get those 'lost' tweaks back ?

I did before and if my memory right, Jb items is not included but just saw the app icon ni. When want click, it shows cannot launch app etc.

Anyone tried cydia essential upgrade? Once i completed and respring the phone, it looks like freeze on the respring. It keep show the loading logo nonstop.

Just updated to cydia 1.1.6..it works just fine and slightly faster too..maybe the server is temporarily down when u're trying to update..restart your phone and try again later

guys, keep getting "this device isn't eligible for the requested build " when trying to restore 5.0.1 firmware (currently in 4.3.3).

Been tried to comment the host file, but still no luck, any idea how to solve this??

How do i wipe out the contents on my iPhone 4 which is currently in 5.01 and jailbreaked without unjailbreaking it and upgrading to the latest firmware?

Can i use the delete all contents in the settings option?

No. You will only end up getting your iPhone bricked. Only way is upgrade through iTunes on your pc

Oh wa... i don't have to upgrade to 5.1 If there is no other way i guess I have to delete all apps,messages and phonebook manually?

Since you jailbroken your device, its not advisable to press delete all contents. Try installing erase contacts via cydia. Not sure whether supporting IOS5 yet or not.
