i am using ios 4.3.3 , i have downloaded the shsh 5.0.1 ios and try to restore it to 5.0.1 but not really working~ so what i have to do to upgrade it to 5.0.1

U will cannot update to ios 5.0.1...
Using iFaith can let u to upgrade to ios 5.0.1...

o ic so i have to choose ifaith to update to ios 5.0.1 by itunes using shirt? but i use simple mode.... and cant open the shsh file to choose ifaith anymore T_T

Ya. That's what I mean. Last time when I upgrade to 5.0.1 i also feel my battery improve then when i jb it then the battery draining issue come back.

U need to dump u shsh using iFaith...i will tell u after i reach at home...

You have downloaded the 5.0.1 SHSH from Cydia or you have downloaded the 5.0.1 iOS firmware?

How did you download the SHSH? Using Tinyumbrella I assume?

i search at google get a ifaith 1.4.2 for windows this can use? or need to download tinyumbrella ?

What i did to upgrade it was ,

1. Get ur SHSH file from TinyUmbrella ( Tick set hosts to Cydia , then click Save SHSH)
2. Open iFaith ( locate the SHSH file, make sure its correct ( 5.0.1) , locate your IPSW , build it ) Then follow the steps for PWNED dfu mode.
3. In iTunes, use the modified Signed IPSW from iFaith ( should be on desktop ) and restore it
4. If the SHSH worked, it should restore smoothly with no errors.
5. Jailbreak it

Charlen3, can tell me more what actually ur iMessage problem? Need more info before I can suggest to solve ur problem.

Errr I can't activate my iMessage and I try to activate it by iTunes it says my sim card is not the original user for the phone means it is a lock set i guess ... I downloaded the Sam from a google site to fix the problem but it is still under activation

To activate imessage, your sim card must be activated. If your sim card shows failure then imessage cant be activated. Have you try another sim card from different telco? Let us know your finding.
