For info on downgrading, read the first post.
In Summary, for each devices, this is what you need
1. iPhone 4s - no path to downgrade even with SHSH saved.
2. iPad 2 - can only downgrade to 4.x firmware with SHSH saved - No path to downgrade or restore to 5.0.1 even with SHSH saved.
3. iPhone 4 - can downgrade to 5.0.1 with SHSH saved + APTickets saved via iFaith Custom firmware process (link provided by Fadil)
4. iPhone 3Gs, same as iPhone 4 though for old bootrom 3Gs, they have the option to jailbreak 5.1 untethered with the latest redasn0w 0.9.10b6.

But yes, the iPhone 4 can be jailbroken tethered on 5.1. The first post already mentioned it. I will update the first post with the guide from iClarified later today. Most likely because a lot of people do not want to lose the untethered jailbreak. The only reason I would go to 5.1 is if something catastrophic happens to my wife's iPhone 4 and I had to restore to 5.1. Otherwise, no. |

i got any issue. jailbroken iphone 4 lagged when i flip to the search page, the end left page.. is this normal?
Added on March 10, 2012, 2:14 amits getting annoying when i accidentally flip too much to the search page and it lagged for 10sec plus...
if it doesnt solve the problem, i might unjailbreak my iphone...

Just finish Restore and Jailbreak on IOS 5.1....
Got a lot of difference with 5.1 and 5.0.1....
5.1 give more ram on iphone 3gs....
on 5.0.1 only got below 100mb...
on 5.1 got 127mb....
