The whatsapp app was removed due to a loophole. Some hackers managed to get into the server and send the message containing something like

"Send this message to 10 people and the message must be has double-ticked then only you don't need to pay after 1 year of usage"

Apparently that message was a hoax and it was sent from hackers.

Turn on airplane mode, set wifi, notification off, fetch less data, set to lower desired brightness, turn on auto brightness as you like.

Turn off calenders on notifications. It does however consumes a lot of battery when it is on the notification center as people said, it fetches data frequently as in every hour.

Wouldn't that be a bit too much though? I mean, if you start turning off everything for the sake of battery life (even Calendars) then, the phone is not that smart anymore.

It's an option I guess for some people, but for those with busy schedule, then turning off the Calendars will be a bit too much I think.

you forgot to turn off locations services and push. also you should set the brightness to about 5% on the scale and in a pitch black room so that auto brightness doesn't scale the brightness up to ambient light.

with those tips our phones would be able to last for a week at best, 5 odd days to be realistic!

I don't do much on my calenders, i put them under my reminders which are less battery consuming than the calender.
