Get a mountain bike that cost around RM4500 to RM5000. That will be a good bike. If can get XT group set, it is a plus point.

In the end Pedaling power and fitness was the tiny weeny difference between Gwin and Minnar...theres one section Gwin sat on the saddle...and Minnar just stood on and power through ...what was impressive was Minnar had a lot of ground to cover as he made mistakes in the first few sections ....Damn fit man these guys

Bet they don't have balls as big as tongyam.

Big balls will require adjustable seatpost...

If not your balls will get in the way when you shift your weight back hahahah...

Rider issue not Giant problem. same applies between Gwin and Minnar. I rather say. The fitness and luck! Haha~

4.8k can get a good giant XTC hardtail... go shop around shop for the best deal.

Good evening fello forumers, after reading the first 70+ pages of this thread, i finally decided to post here. I am thinking to start a new hobby of MTB-ing, and i prefer a XC bike as it is within my budget, after asking a fellow friend of mine, he suggested this to me, my question is, does this setup is suitable for beginners like me, and roughly how much will it cost to build a bike with this specs, I am 168~170cm in height and weigh about 75+/- kg. And would You guys suggest another setup of bikes within a budget of RM2k +/-.
