Confused on what Engine Oil to go for my 1000KM Service....

My heart says Mobil 1 GOLD....(as I'm using this for all my rides)

Others....still kinda skeptical....

haha..it is no no..but duno why proton have it in SC

im using mobil 1 silver...and will be using mobil1 from now on.. petronas syn800 is rubbish

All engine oil same de lah....

Like some peopel use until 4~500RM to change hami funny engine oil... mah si same.. bleh

We not runnign some turbo/high performance engine.. ok de lah

tarak sama wo bro... after using syn800 for 20k km, then changed to mobil 1 fully syn, felt much lighter and cold starts up so much better and less harsh.

even right after he pour in the new fully syn oil, i took out the dipstick and can see sum black stuffs on the dipstick, showing that the syn800 did a bad job in engine cleaning.

i know that comparing a rm200+ engine oil with a rm100 engine oil is abit way off, but it goes to show that u get what u pay.

cant be sure of syn3000 though, no $ to try all..cheapskate ma

See your engine oil one week later. Chinese call it black oil for a reason, it is supposed to be black

Same lar...only pyschological difference only...if you do blind test, sure cannot tell whether "lighter" or what. I used syn3000 last service, changed from syn 800...don't feel difference really, only pyschological ones when i changed it initially......black stuff is normal lar...after 6 months, see your oil black stuff or not....sure got one.

definately not pyschological. my car dont have shade, every morning it gets really cold over here in kota bharu. ive been comparing before and after.

bro, u guys misund me already. i know black oil should be black.

1st, drain off oil.

2nd fill up new oil.

3rd = i saw residue on my dipstick AFTER filling with new oil. not liquid, more like DEPOSITS, star shaped.

it shows that the newer oil has better cleaning properties.

if oil has no difference, why not use petronas mach5? ada berani cuba?

I dunno.. i went to my regular mechanic... he have some motul-super-expensive-spec oil and another.. er.. repsol or something also nonsense expensive in his store. But what he always ask me to use... Castrol Edge.. he uses the same for his Evo 9 which he plays in SIC...

But ofcourse, everyone have different buttdyno setting, use whichever makes you feel good with your car!

He dun carry petronas. Also look at your manual, does it say "MINERAL OIL"?

bro, mine air filter stock.. probably carbon deposits that the previous oil cant get it out.

i dont care wat colour it is, as long as it gets the job done, and syn800 is a crappy oil.

i used to believe that it is good enough until i put the fully syn inside.

I never use sync800 before so I dunno la. Using 1000 only.

Some say 1000 crappy some say ok. Since 3000 is just a little more only.

Heh.. maybe u should ask them put in Syntium 5000 to try see if u feel any difference?

Also... i didnt read up on our engine... but not the thinner the oil the better it is for every engine...

No wonder vtec so good la, they must service 5000 km, so how you rev the engine also no problem
