did anyone know how to overclock my xperia pro to 1.4GHz with stock rom ?

*
overclock with stock rom? i don't think so. from my reading, to overclock you need to kernel that support oc. im not sure, but i think no you can't overclock with stock rom. anybody here tried overclock with custom rom?

how about just change the kernel ?
hmm.gif
i don't want to use custom rom .
because i can't found the stable one ..
doh.gif
*
yup can just change the kernel. as long as the kernel support oc.
but yes, it hard to find kernel for xperia pro. there are one custom kernel with cwm at XDA forum, but according to author, not support oc
maybe can ask jeopardise. he already oc his phone, but not sure he use custom kernel or not.

OC and custom kernel if combined will be totally awesome...
Just tried playing full HD1080P video on pro... Lag on video, sound ok... I tried Rock Player and Mobo video player pro...

Any HD player recommended? Although it'll be laggy...
*
MX video player work fine to me. so far i've only tried 1080 .mp4 file. other 1080 format not sure.

I'm still with my PRO for the next maybe 5 years or until this phone kaput.
*
i wish this phone can survive that long. ever since 5 years ago, i never had phone that can survive more than 2 years. huhu.
either the phone kaput just after warranty end or the phone had become outdated. this is so much true with canggih phone.

smartphone that can survive like 3310 is hard to find.

Xperia Pro a good phone? Will the phone become wobbly after sometimes?  hmm.gif
What is the market price now?
I pm-ed one of the seller in this forum, he offer me ORI Rm9xx and AP Rm7xx...RM2xx difference?  shakehead.gif
Long time no buy new phone, is buying an AP phone safe?  icon_question.gif

sorry for asking silly questions, hope sifus here can clarify... notworthy.gif
*
sometimes? define sometimes. i'd been using it about 1 month and half. i had this bad habit of sliding in and out frequently, sometimes without reason. so far the sliding mechanism is very good.

last time i bought during valentine promo, got rm1079, and i thing for ori is around that.
rm200 different is normal for sony phone. even 2-3 years ago many SE phone (e.g C510, W660i) got that difference price. yeah sometimes make you harder to choose. my personal advice, if you have extra money, go for ori. nationwide warranty plus no problem with keyboard mapping somemore...

sadly, no native video call for xperia pro!

even my old diamond2 WOM6.5 has it.
*
blame google for this. fyi, only samsung and lg phone got native 3g call for android. other android phone, no native 3g call, which include htc and xperia. this had been issued worldwide but google never take any action on it.

Thank you so much for ur help. One more question just to make sure.
So i can root it on .58 then OTA update to .62? It wont brick my phone?
then later can OTA to ICS too?
thanks
*
PLEASE DON'T FOTA after you had boot unlock. you'll brick your phone. one of lyn user here already had this issue. you can read back several page before.

u want root, settle with .58 firmware. want .62 firmware, dont root. btw, i don't think .58 and .62 firmware have much different.

guys, any news on ics? did the neo V and others have already got their ics?
if sony delay neo V ics update, our phone (neo and pro) might as well been delayed. cry.gif

meanwhile, xperia play got their beta ics. sony release official ICS beta for xperia play

sony said, ICS might give some problem to xperia 2011 series......so think twice before updating

xperia blog
*
sony have to make the ICS as clean as possible. or else it will hurt the phone performance. xperia is a great phone with great function (dlna, 3d album, etc) but how many of us really use them? i rarely use them, and i think those function should be install by those who want it, not by default. i know some people love timescape, but i rarely use them. same goes to xperia hot shot app, uefa.com app, photoshop express, moxier pro, mcaffee security, business centre app and many other bloatware.
i love wisepilot though.

QUOTE(VictorKeong @ Mar 31 2012, 09:32 PM)
any1 ever used the Google Maps, Google Latitude, Google Navigation and Weather Widget on Xperia Pro?? XD
*
rarely use google maps but many of app require google maps such as foursquare and wisepilot. never use google latitude, why use latitude when foursquare is more fun? google navigation? we have wisepilot for that. the weather widget is there on default and i never remove them. not that i read the weather forecast but having it as widget on my wallpaper seem nice.

Added on April 10, 2012, 10:32 pmall this talk bout phone cant on and stuff while rooting makes me kinda worried to root my phone after warranty is over HAHA!!
afterall i plan to use this phone for atleast 5 years
*
well picture this, if there are 100 people who try to root their phone, more than 80% of them will succeed but maybe only 20% of them will post that they succeed to root their phone.

the less than 20% that failed to root their phone, most of them will post that they fail to root their post.

the truth is, taken proper precaution, there will be no problem rooting our phone.

the most common cause of phone get bricked is due to FOTA after root. (remember that only fw .58 and below can be root, not .62). otherwise i didn't ever stumble upon other problem on rooting as far as on my reading.

great thing is we have wotan server. your phone brick?, just reflash with wotan server.

hope this will alleviate your worry.

I don't really like to root and play with custom ROM. smile.gif What's the con about the warranty?
*
how about customization? what type of user are you?

as far as i can say, this phone great for typist, or those who love physical kb and doesn't ready to migrate to touch phone yet. my previous phone also hv physical kb (nokia e75) so i found this phone very attractive.

for those who love customizing his/her phone, this phone is not good, but this phone UI is already nice out of the box.
i see some of my friends using samsung phone, most of them change to custom launcher (e.g. Go Launcher) as soon as the phone come out. isn't true for most sony xperia phone because the UI is already nice.

but yeah, the phone seem like underpowered, ALL sony xperia phone 2011 model (neo, neo V, pro, play etc) are underpowered in fact.

this phone had already good function out of the box. hdmi, exmor m sensor for camera, bravia engine screen, wisepilot(GPS), nice music player, trackid, office suite, facebook intergration etc that make this phone suitable for those who use phone out of box and didn't customize his/her phone.

in summary if you the type of

I. customize, custom player/launcher/app, want to compete with other, push the phone till what it could - dont take this phone.
or
II. use this phone out of the box with minimal changes, type fast with kb, use only for msg, internet, play media. - do take this phone.
