QUOTE(miracle_liam @ Feb 22 2012, 01:24 PM)
After using my rooted SEX pro for 3 weeks, the on-screen keyboard seems to work well for short text messages but for replying emails i prefer the physical qwerty keyboard. physical qwerty keyboard ftw~

I feel that the after installing market laucher slow down the overall performance. So back to on the sony UI.

What you guys think?
*
im using go launcher ex. yup, abit slow than original sony ui, but i prefer go launcher ex because of the customization. im not really into rooting yet, so changing the launcher and theme is as far as i can go for customization.

QUOTE(xowangzi @ Feb 21 2012, 08:01 PM)
Can someone comment about the SE Pro's phone qwerty keyboard ?
How is it ? Can type fast? And what about the overall ?
*
i know im a bit late, but can i still comment? hehe.
imho,
when choosing qwerty phone, it's all about self preference. which one do you prefer? because hater will always hate. if you love android and qwerty phone, SEX pro is the best thumbup.gif *to me and many SEX pro user here*
i got friends who keep on criticizing my phone. but the more they criticize my phone, the more i love my phone.
my 1st qwerty phone was nokia e75. even that, many of my friend criticize the phone because the phone have keypad, and qwerty keyboard. people said it's redundant to have both keypad and qwerty keyboard. but to me, it's flexibility to have both.

back to SEX pro, which aspect do you look for when choosing qwerty phone?
1. do you like side sliding keyboard? or u prefer BB like qwerty keyboard?
to me, BB qwerty keyboard is cramped.
2. do you need physical qwerty keyboard, or just onscreen keyboard?
if you feel onscreen keyboard is too cramped, you can try using in landscape mode. but to me, even in landscape mode, i prefer physical qwerty keyboard. it's not of size, it's about precision and speed.
3. do you prefer precision and speed, hate typo so much?
i hate typo. some onscreen keyboard is very good, i've try swiftkey, swype and touchpal keyboard. some are very good in predicting word and can remember your typing habits (try swiftkey), but nothing beat physical keyboard for precision and speed.
people sometimes use the corner of their thumb to type, but i hate it. i prefer to use the base of thumb rather than corner of thumb to type. more comfortable. have you try typing using base of thumb on onscreen keyboard? if you do, u'll know how imprecise it can be, which lead to MANY typos.
4. availability and added feature
the most important factor that i choose SEX pro is availability. there are actually many qwerty android phone (http://www.androidauthority.com/the-best-qwerty-android-phones-in-2011-compared-10391/), but only several are sold in malaysia. we have here in malaysia, SEX mini pro, motorola droid 2 global and several others, which is quiet limited choice we have here. to me SEX mini pro is outdated, and motorola droid 2 is overprice. SEX pro suit me more.

but overall, i LOVE notworthy.gif my SEX pro. the keyboard never fail me.
ask all SEX pro user here, they all love their phone! notworthy.gif

Ermmmm. Can I ask... the live view can use for other android phone such as HTCs ?

i love my phone so much, that the list can get even longer. hehe.
regarding the liveview, it's compatible with android 2.0. yup, even older android phone can.

Hey... Just wanted to check out before I make my mind...
Does pro fits into pockets well?
Because if I somemore getting the protector will be thicker leh...

Now in crossroads between pro and ray... Both are very attractive...

EDIT: Is silver colour back cover fingerprint-less design? If yes I might opt for that one... Prefering red but black QWERTY keyboard light is more stunning...
*
the phone fits my pocket well. i even go jogging with my phone (i put my phone in the pocket)
mind you that ALL qwerty phone are bulky, including xperia pro. but i think xperia pro is slim enough. but if you compare with non-qwerty phone, of course xperia pro is bulky.

pro vs ray? depend on your preferences.
do you need physical qwerty keyboard or you will just fine with onscreen keyboard?
do you mind if you have to keep your phone in landscape mode to use the keyboard or you prefer to use phone in potrait mode in most of the time?
if you doesn't need physical qwerty, go for ray. slimmer, lighter n abit cheaper. have you consider galaxy w? 1.4ghz, 4gb internal memory, native 3g videocall, similar price but 5mp camera and no ics update.

p/s: hehe, to sony fanboy, please dont bash me for recommend samsung here. icon_rolleyes.gif

new owner of black xperia pro and blue neo v  biggrin.gif just bought it today.
hmm im new to android and stuff but what is the purpose of root/rooting/bootloader ya?  blush.gif
*
bootloader is for rooting and flashing purpose. rooting is getting admin access to your phone. it mean you can install custom rom, overclock, underclock and uninstall unnecessary apps (especially bloatware). flashing is rom level. if you want to reset you rom, or install new rom, flashing is the tool.
that the idea. mr google can answer you more. hehe.

siuyi and victorkeong are sifus in rooting here. notworthy.gif

for those who have live view, kindly share you experience on it.

wanna buy a watch but consider it as a replacement.
*
i've use it since i bought the phone, which was 12 days ago.
good function but hampered by poor battery and weak signal.

+ can read SMS, missed call, show who is calling, RSS, fb and twitter (basic function)
+ plugin - for add on function

- poor (very poor) battery life, expect 6-8h battery life. mean you have to recharge everynight (or even everytime you have the opportunity). dont trust the 96h battery life crap.
- KEEP ON DISCONNECTED. what the point of having liveview when it keep on disconnected. most of the time, it work, but sometimes, it disconnected and to reconnect, it take about a minute or two.
- native clock doesn't have second hand. the clock show only hour and minute. still can't replace watch. *but can be replace by plugin watch, download at market e.g. Live Watches
- design. the liveview look dull. but most importantly, the wristband attachment is too tight. imagine you have to detach the liveview from the wristband to recharge, but you can't detach it because it's too tight? i end up scratching the liveview to crack open the liveview from wristband. no, u cannot charge it directly without detach it because the USB port for charging is block by the attachment.

*edited* update with picture

like i said, good functions but poor battery and poor signal. not yet a watch replacement, but fortunately, it have plugin to add other function which make this liveview is good accesory.

neo v vs galaxy w? not sure this is dejavu or i've seen this before....
have you read gsmarena neo v vs galaxy w review?

im a xperia pro user (which very similar with neo v, the different is just camera 5mp), and i've try galaxy w so i think both of them on par, with some pro and cons.

neo v
+ ICS in late mac or early april
+ design
+ camera - sony phone have very good camera.

samsung w
+ native 3g videocall
+ faster (1.4ghz) and bigger internal memory (4gb)

other
- galaxy w is shorter but wider, neo v is longer (look sexy to me)
- eventhough galaxy w is faster, but no obvious differences
- as u can see, neo v physical button (home, back and menu) have gap with the screen, while galaxy w home button is very near to the screen, and touch sensitive also. this make difference while playing games and texting in term of user experience, not speed. if u type faster, u are prone to hit the home button in galaxy w. this not happen in neo v because of physical button.

lagging? not noticeable. even galaxy w can lag if too much msg, and too much active background apps.

imho - go for neo v. topup sikit, go for neo. at least sony promise ICS update. now already end of february, we sony mobile user tak sabar tunggu ICS. hehe. samsung got? samsung only promise ICS for their dualcore phone (correct me if im wrong).

Lol. I had went straight for pro. Got it like in the morning yesterday.
Personally I prefer pro over Samsung due to the irristsistable exmor r camera function and the design and colour. I'm on red.
I prefer pro for keyboard. For RM60 can get a keyboard, hdmi somemore liveview, so ended with pro for worthiness.

[ I was in dilemma like you butah ended up with red cause black is just too mainstream.
