I've experienced file corruption and data loss with Class 4 MicroSD that come originally with the phone. Perhaps there's no luck with the unknown brand microSD.

However the microSD works ok with my GPS. So there's something to take note on the quality of the microSD card.

so i decided to root my phone but before i want to do anything else, how do i do nandroid backup?

the more i look in the internet, the more i become confuse. any help on making nandroid backup?

some site says nandroid using cwm, but some say use recovery boot option. so which one is easier, and do full full backup, just in case anything will happen later?
*
Use CWM or recovery (the same thing) because much easier and makes more sense if anything happens. I do not know how to describe it to you but its like doing Norton Ghost on the PC rolleyes.gif

Anybody using Neo or Neo V?  Thinking of getting one for my wife, her primary concern is camera.  Arc is too big for her since she wouldn't even touch my Incredible S (too bulky, she says).  Any issues or problems I should be aware of?  Can root easily?  Neo or Neo V better?  Difference about RM100.  Thanks.
*
Neo absolutely. I am using Neo too.

But not all of 512mb available right?
*
Yup. Its reserved for Android subsystem.

Attached Image

Based on the screenshot RAM is roughly 336MB. If it is 512MB or more, I can bet this phone is very quick.

My internal memory is increased to 420MB from 380MB (stock) which just a simple mod for Neo.

Cache (100MB) is unused.

Can the same mod be use to pro as well?
*
I am not sure because no Pro user tested it. I can't just say it can't.

....

yup, have to unlock bootloader to flash kernel (because cm9.0 not compatible with stock kernel) and rom. i think to access recovery boot also need unlock bootloader.
like siuyi wrote in the first page, can root without unlock bootloader. for "soft" tweeking and rooting no need to unlock bootloader.  cool2.gif
*
There's recovery without the unlocked bootloader requirement. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364509 but I am not sure if it works with Pro. If i am not mistaken, the recovery didn't recognise Pro's shortcut keys, but i think I am not 100% correct, because I read Siuyi got it working.

CM9 look that buggy then I think i'll pass hmm.gif

Until ICS released and the developer has released with proper kernel, mod and tweak, I will stay with GB. If fact I am really happy with my current setup.

I do not need NFC, face unlock and see the version number increases from 2.3.4 to 4. My only concern is the impact on space, RAM and efficiency which currently I personally think very limited on Arc, Neo or Pro.

Perhaps ICS enjoyed better with dual-core, larger space & RAM phone.

i-Paid-3? ... I will save money for better investments like Win 7/8 tablets for work/daily tasks.

Anyone here keep swapping their memory card ?instead of one 32GB, I wanna get 16gb x2 can ? everyday swap like that phone will rosak ?
*
the problems swapping memorycard are like links to the apps moved to sdcard will gone. thus got icons moved to the last screen or so. programs that uses sdcard may not work.

u will have trouble to always open ur casing to swap memcard. parts can be broken.

i had the same exact problem, down to the percentage laugh.gif

what i did was took out the battery, gosok2 the contact part a bit, then put it back. now everything seems ok, no batt drop so far.

not sure if that's the correct solution tho, just as long it works.
*
need to calibrate battery. better do the charging when battery 1%-5% the fully charge it. do not overcharge.

sometimes happen because an apps wrongly detect the battery capacity... such as battery monitor widget.

... then i tried to reflash back by wutanserver to its original firmware 2.3.2 from 2.3.4 because only dat firmware has CDA Malaysia..... suddenly my phone off and the battery drain to 0% and i just can on my phone if charger plugin.. I dun know wat to do..  cry.gif
*
sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif I wish that you haven't done the above cry.gif

If you flashed to 2.3.2, there's an issue with the battery stuck at 0% and this problem I think is much worst that bricking your phone. The firmware would ruin the battery sensor, and its hard to fix IMHO. It's not battery problem or battery data on the phone, do putting new battery won't solve it.

I've read a few ways to solve but unsure if there's an effective way. I'll reply you directly if I found the solution ya.

MT15a is used in US. Its not stand for Arab.

It means different 3G network frequencies. I think A is for AT&T (in the US)
Tmobile USA

the 3G bands

3G frequencies

MT15i HSDPA 900 / 2100
MT15a HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800

For MT15i supports T-mobile network and widely available in the world. However mostly MT15a works mostly in America.

In Wotanserver, firmware for MT15a, are for phone in the US. So if you flash MT15a firmware to MT15i phone, it will be screwed.

If using custom launcher, make sure it doesn't consume too much memory and cpu time .. otherwise it will make the phone laggy and battery life will be shorter.
