note or pad bigger size mah...so cost more loh...have to open everything up, screen(glass) and the touch sensor, so they will change it together although they said they cant detach it but i am not too sure, maybe the risk is high so they force you to change them both.

QUOTE(pikacu @ Nov 1 2012, 10:02 AM) AMOLED screen are quite expensive to replace. With majority of manufacturers preferring to attach screen & digitizer together don't expect the cost will be cheaper in future. If you have the skill you can separating the screen & digitizer & try to replace the screen alone. Contrary to what it look like,N9/Lumia 800/Lumia 900 screen can be dissembled easily if you have the right tool. It's just separating the screen & digitizer is hard. Since we are on repairing topic I want to comment few things here.
Some people are avoiding Lumia's polycarbonate version because they say it's hard to repair.IMHO the 2 usual thing that need repair in smartphone's are screen & battery.Comparing Lumia 900's design & iPhone 4S/4 (iPhone 5 have different top down design) I'll say Lumia 900 is way easier to repair & even newbie can do it with proper tool.If I'm not mistaken you just have to unscrew few & pop out the screen to replace the screen & battery if you want to replace them. This is way different from iPhone 4/4S which you have to unscrew whole bunch of different type of screws to replace the display. It's nice to know that Nokia's complex looking design doesn't make it harder to repair it unlike some other company. |
