Bro Kevin,

Have you tried benching some games with your setup lately? I would love to see the FPS in games with your monster setup. Maybe crysis 2, metro 2033, warhead and how about your Unigine Heaven 2.5 result/FPS in extreme tessel settings at 1920x1080?

I hv run Dirt3, Unigine, AvP, Lost Planet, Batman AC all on stock clocks at 2560x1600. I still dont hv much time to bench on OCed clocks as well as 4800x2560 with triple U3011 lol.

I think shouldn't be aproblem to run 1275MHz at 1.3v. Just watch the temps closely, but at that clock you've to crank up the fan speed manually to >80% all the time + a very loud noise...For benchmark it shouldnt be a problem smile.gif.

owikh84 has waterblocks on the GPUs, I think there is little concern on the temperature issues.

Yeah, I just wondering how good those EK WBs performed at highly OC'ed GPUs and high core voltage..but it's proven to be able to handle those heats easily smile.gif

Water is always more efficient than air in heat dissipation. These are my EK FC7970 plexi-nickel blocks:

tempting..Wanted to get those but I am in dilemma now since I read in guru3d.com that GTX680 will be 45% faster than 7970(maybe rumours)..hope that wasn't real. Maybe it's wiser to wait for kepler before upgrading to 2nd 7970? Btw, what's your highest score with 3x OC'ed 580s in 3dmark11/Vantage? I'm sure 3x7970s beat the 3x580s with a good margin..can you share with us? hehe..

I believe GTX680 will be faster than 7970 just don't know by how far. Just wait and see. hmm.gif
7970 X3 is surely better than GTX580 x3 on these benchmarks.

Thanks for sharing thumbup.gif . It appears the difference between OC'ed 3x580s vs OC'ed 3x7970s was sooo obvious:
3dmark Vantage: 13k better GPU score (21% faster)
3dmark11 : 9k better GPU score (43% faster)

shocking.gif

I think with 7970s either 2x or 3x can keep anyone happy for at least 2years ahead..so maybe not going back to the green team yet atm smile.gif.

But AMD should really improve their driver department leh...
Some games ie. LoTR WotN got serious stuttering issues.
Sometimes my windows taskbar flickered said to be caused by conflict between 2D/3D profiles.

AMD,
WE
NEED
A
NEW
DRIVER
!!!

Ya ya... +100 rep! Totally agree on above. They built a lovely hardware no doubt but they really need to improve on their software department. The bad thing is that, we heard these sentences since HD5xxx series or even before that since my Green days laugh.gif .

Just to ask , if my card keep failing earlier when I overclock ( blue screen , screen freeze , etc ) will it affect my GC's performance?

I feel laggy in games although high fps.

What game? my skyrim yesterday lagging very very bad.... 5fps only..

ahaha, well that because of my graphic mod dint go well.... btw, i got BSOD many time when trying to OC before...
Posibilities if your GC performance down because of the software/forceware/ccc . . i dont think BSOD can make hardware performance down... maybe abit but not noticable..
