Benchmark again 1125/1575

Max GPU temp : 74 degrees
Max GPu voltage :1.175

Hmm , is my voltage ok ? or do I need to lower it , electricity bill very expensive ?

Score : P9164

If you want to run at those clocks for 24/7..better keep it at 1175mv. You can OC more once you enable unofficial overclocking for MSi AB. I'm going to sleep now.. yawn.gif.

Edit: Well, just ignore my post on saving electricity...if you can afford a $600USD card, then RM100 monthly shouldn't be aproblem to you right? haha biggrin.gif

I just played a game for 2 hours .. Max temp with the OCed card 81 degrees.. is this ok ? blink.gif

How to enable unofficial overclocking ?

TBH, I wont let my GPU reach even 70degC while gaming. Try to increase the fan speed a little bit and undervolt your core voltage..try 1150mV at 1125MHz core and 1575MHz Mem and see if no problem arises then check again your max temps...I think your gpu is hotter then mine..because with my current fan profile, gpu temps never reach 70degC while gaming (Crysis2, crysis warhead, BF3, metro 2033, skyrim etc..at highest settings).

What casing you're using and what is your 7970's idle temp at stock clock/voltage?

My GPU reached 83 degrees max just now, but after like 4 hours of gaming..

I am using Lian Li PC-8FIB casing

7970 idle temp below around 40-50 degrees.

My fan is really loud like 100% sometimes.

I undervolted the core voltaga to 1150mV , 1125/1575 benchmark again..

max gpu temp : 73

rclxub.gif

the score increased lol , p9232

maybe it's your casing, the airflow might not be that good. I dunno..but like i suggest, try to undervolt or increase fan speed at lower temps..

update: great, if you can gaming at 1150mv with that clock maybe 2-3hours non stop then you may want to save the profile with lower voltage(1150mv). but it's your call whether to use 1150mv or going with even lower voltage to reduce the heat from GPU. your score is considered high already at that clock speed..congrats

I think for GPU should be fine...but i advice you to always monitor your temps maybe let it settle at max 80-82degC only but not for a longer period of time. However, to me I wont let my CPU & GPU to ever reach 70degC in daily apps/games smile.gif.

What a superb score with triple 7970s! How's your temps on all 3 cards if OC'ed to 1275MHz, 1.25V?

max temp recorded by Asus GPUTweak hit 61C; somehow i find it inaccurate as MSI AB & TRIXX reporting 51C
ambient here is 35C at night.

If I'm not mistaken, 3dmark utilize all cpu threads during benchmark. Since your cpu dont support HT, you only have 4 cores that's why your score is lower compare to others using 2600k or 2700k with 8 threads...someone expert pls correct me if I'm wrong.

btw, P scores is a combination of both CPU and GPU, that's why you cannot past p9k score at 1150/1600. My score with 2600k at 4.7GHz and 7970@ 1170/1600 was ~P9600 simply because of higher cpu scores.

No idea... what your current volt right now? You better ask in intel 1155 OC room for this...

Auto , i oc-ed it to 4.2ghz it's stable now.. around 1.2v
But I ran Linx stability test the temps are quite high around the 70s

I tried oc to 4.8 with 1.4v .. Blue screen cry.gif maybe need better cooling ?

1.4v at load or idle?
BSOD has nothing to do with cooling.
If it's code x101 & x124, your CPU needs more joice, increase vcore till you get rid of that BSOD.
For further discussion pls proceed to the SB OC thread.

bro kevin, 61degC is too good already for trifire setup thumbup.gif . what's the cost of 1pcs 7970 waterblock? and how do I get it from here? I wish to add 1 more 7970 and watercool them later in march. But If GTX680 really 45% faster than 7970 maybe need to change the plan laugh.gif haha
