They start to fish outside Malaysia now according to Kenanga speaker.
*
Can they actually do so? i tot if let say their fund is Malaysian based, then they will stick to it becos is like their fund's aim and market. I see their performance had a sharp dip during 2011, probably due to east msia election. But it recovered quite well.

The strategy they employed made them less volatile compared to KLCI movement.

They have a table to prove that.

Regarding 1st question, Pink Spider has replied.

I'm tempted to buy into Hwang Select Income, however the price is too high now 0.67 today. The fund size is really huge it's now at 1.8++mil, was told once it reaches 2bil, it will close for sale.
*
wat mean by close for sale? then our money inside gone?

oh.. like AmDynamic bond lo.. I plan to take hwang AQF or hwang select bond. now AQF is having 1% sales charge promo, i think tis fund is a keeper due to AsiaEx Japan region, but maybe will only be 10% of my portfolio when it is completed.

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Feb 20 2013, 05:12 PM)
OU GEYF compared to Alliance GEF:
- overweight US and Europe i.e. Developed Markets
- focus on dividend yield
- lower volatility

Why EI EIF?
Because I already have some exposure to Malaysian large caps thru EI GEMF, and small caps thru Hwang AQF. Thus, I want a Malaysian equity fund that focuses on dividend income rather than growth.
*
pinky, how u know whether the fund is focus on dividend yield or chiong one? i see fund factsheets mostly say wat region, wat they holding and their performance and some funds data only..

Look at their prospectus lo boss...they will state the investment style of the fund.

GEYF invest with dividends as primary focus, capital growth is secondary.
Same thing with EI EIF
*
oh ok boss biggrin.gif prospectus alot of pages a >< they should just summarize it at fund factsheets lol..7

But its just a one day drop. If u wanna wait for bargain, wait for multiple day losses.
*
hang seng dropping since last week. I keep an eye becos i have little bit holding in HK stock lol.. i felt like holding stock waiting for dividend yield is nothing better than buying UT. Let say u buy maxis at rm6.00, last year dividend give 4 times around 8sen each time, total rm0.32. So 1 lot dividend is rm320 not yet deduct tax. 320/6 is around 5% yield only. What's the point of buying stock for dividend yield? If we don count capital gain la.. maybe sometimes u lucky they split share?

he early retire ma, enjoy life cos got passive income edi biggrin.gif actually when u wan retire is depend on what kind of passive income u can generate. If u target ok passive income 10k per month then u stop work liao, then when hit target either u can go get a job tat is less stress to kill time, or u can start to enjoy life becos u no need work u edi have 10k, can go around the world liao.

Lots of employees also millionaire, depends whether you can control your spending and invest sufficiently. I know some people after 10-15 years working as mid range employee is also practically millionaire.

How much employers willing to pay you depend how much money you make for them... have you considered that?  wink.gif

If you just work for the sake of work.. then peanuts more suitable for you.. nod.gif
*
depends on the company u working in, u whole life work in chinamen company u think u get 1million? not all employers think like tat, of coz it a basis that they pay u depend on how much can make the company profit. But different employers different way, 1 company 1 yr turnover 2mil, maybe they pay u 2k only when u die die find 2mil business for them? Different employers different expectations, as i said, u need alot of luck.

well, i din even touch about investing and spending, i mean ur net salary from the company. An employee in Shell if ur total salary gained is below 3mil when u retire is consider puny. I believe Oil and Gas is different thing, the company like exxon net profit 40bn USD a year after they pay all ur salary, that's why salary big. getting 40-60k per month as a department manager in shell is not something big. So anyone plan to come over to work here? biggrin.gif

but maybe u have less time to divert to do investment? with tat amount of money, when u retire u still have golden hen to help u lay golden egg biggrin.gif only if u spend it wisely smile.gif

Think Warren Buffett, think value investing, NOT trend following. With UTs, we are investing for the long-term, not trading. Hence, trend is irrelevant to us. Just my 1 sen worth of opinion. wink.gif

If u know their strategy, u don't need to pay them 1.5% management fee every year, u yourself can buy shares on your own. laugh.gif
*
hehe.. but long term also u have to think of some place to park ur fund.. that's abit headache. i believe a decent fund u apply DCA strategy u will get some good return in long term.. Well, wait monday see AQF how.. hang seng drop quite alot tat day but AQF still ok not so bad tho.. looking for an entry point.. oleidi register some RSP edi, but need wait until 15 march ><
