Dont fall for such websites guys, there is no JB for aTV3 yet, the community is very small and not much time is dedicated to jail breaking the device.

The best thing about aTV3 is it ability to stream idevices using Airplay technology. But you can also use a windows PC to avail the Airplay I will list the softwares at the end of the post. Although I wish I could install XMBC on it to fully utilise this devices capabilities as I think Apple is not fully utilising the potential of this device, it can have serious utility as not only a media device but also as a gaming platform in the future.

I attached the optical out to my HiFi stereo now I can stream music from anywhere in my house, regularly watch youtube channels directly from my iPad using the Youtube App (Airplay enabled). So I dont regret buying this at all.

For Mac users you can Mirror the desktop directly to your HDTV using aTV3, but you can use software such as Beamer to stream movie directly to aTV without mirroring the desktop.

What if you dont have AppleTV, no Airplay.

For all those who do not own one they can still enjoy Airplay by using a software called Airserver. It essentially acts as a Airplay receiver just like your aTV would.

No longer working with my ATV3.

Works just fine for me. Ensure that your dns is whitelisted and your slot has not expired. And make sure you're using the right dns.

Using this 069.197.169.009 and set it on ATV3 DNS. Internet provider is Maxis Home fiber 10Mbps IP address set to auto. Maxis IP address not white listed and slot full.
After restarted my ATV3, I can't even go the ATV main menu. Tv screen stuck at home sharing and settings icons. How to change Maxis IP address to a white listed ones?

If the slots are full, you just have to try again. But if ur only seeing the settings icons, it means u either have the wrong dns or the dns is not functioning. But it is, I've been using it all the while and even now it's working fine. Send me a print screen of your atv network config. I'm using maxis fibre 10mb too.

I use the google DNS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Sometimes it eitehr one does not work i simply switch to the other and walaa its ok

I use google dns as above in my router and change the atv dns to the tunlr one. Works fine all the time, except when either Netflix or tunlr is down, but that usually is only for a few hours at the most.

hi there, i would like to check, just brought a new Apple TV, what's is the first thing i should do? i had checked thru the apple website, it said able to mirror IPAD 2 to my TV,right? because i want to mirror my mum's Ipad to the TV so that she no need squeeze her eye on the ipad.

i bought apple tv recently. after trying over 8 days i think it is not useful. my laptop can do better and faster to maneuver the youtube.


sometimes the streaming is so slow. so many features are duplicates of mac laptop. am i mistaken?
