nothing to complain except ourselves. We were very energetic in the first half. And all of that at the cost of the 2nd. The players look pathetic even at the 60th minute. Agu was a loner upfront. The wingers lethargic. Shahril was the most underperform guy in the team. Quite shameful as a captain. The penalty shout was dubious but only oursleves to blame for it. Defence was a joke tbh.
One thing to look forward is the speed of our two wingers. They just need more experience to get the ball moving fast. They were just so slow. No standouts except Baihakki's comeback to Singapore of course. Other than, a pretty pathetic 2nd half.
I'll give Agu one more game to see how he performs. If not, its not worth showing how our foriegn talent scheme fail on so many levels. I dont mind Khairul Nizam upfront instead of him.
Yes, albeit this is against Kelantan, but our showing here wasnt the very best we could hoped for a first match. Kelantan with more experience proved to show more control and calmness i their game.
Have to work harder from now on, especially on everyones fitness levels.
Kelantan deserve the points here tbh. But if anything we could have walk away with a point base on the first half though.
Still, this is just the start of our league campaign and theres alot of promises to the season as we look forward. Put the result behind and strive for thenext game is all i can ask.

Added on January 10, 2012, 9:47 pmThe ref sucks but he was fair to both teams though. There were many fouls that shouldnt had been but some of them he got spot on. The penalty decision? The assistant didnt give it, but the ref was adamant
it was a foul and stood by his decision alone.
Not blaming the ref here as he was fair but just a little incompetent. Maybe just first match jitters.

Just come back from stadium. First half belonged to the Lions, all attacking and action packed from the first whistle. Too bad Forwards couldn't capitalise else we could build a comfortable lead.

Second half was real disappointing. Obviously lack of stamina and lack of ideas. Sundram need to rectify this sooner. How can players in their 30s be so much fitter than these young Lions?

But overall I guess it is not too bad. If we can match Kelantan fitness and keep up with the performance in the first half then the lions should be fine. though much to be seen regarding their away performance

How's the atmosphere?

Full house. Had a grand opening due to first match back in Malaysian football. Fans were great, but fell silent after Kelantan equalised. Some minor scuffle at the Away section I think, but security staff snuff it out before hell broke loose.

Second half we went after the ref la, after all the dubious call esp after the penalty. Kelantan fans wasn't that many but credits to them, I think they were quite well behaved. They didn't respond to the provocative actions by our side.

It's been awhile since I last saw a local football match generating so much interest. You know the fever is back when the subways are painted red before and after the game.

The commentator keep on commenting on the artificial turf, kinda lame and showing how deep are their football/m-league knowledge.

saw the first half..superb atmosphere(no damn air horns)..lots of teams are gonna have a hard time when they visit jalan besar..

totally different feel to the game..can feel the rivalry..cant wait for selangor vs singapore..

I'd say the ref got it just right for the penalty. There was contact.

Can't wait for Piala Malaysia, that's where we'll see the old Singapore - Selangor rivalry!

Managed to view the match highlights on YouTube and from the atmosphere at the stadium, gotta say it's really good to have you guys back!

I foresee many more stadium trips this season, especially when Singapore play Selangor!
