sure or not cause the PING will not be this low, i too using a UMG1831

i dun think the speed was achieve with a usb modem, esp UMG1831 cause usb modem wont return a ping of 5ms,

if you wan ppl to believe you , you have to put up some screen shots together with the dialer, i believe that speedtest was achieve with a Maxis Fibre to Home connection, no hard feelings okay, as i wan users here to knoe the real info

btw, abt UMG1831, i have one and i recommend users who wan this low cost modem (RM199, because its outdated compared to E353) to buy it from a recommended seller like _____( u can PM me if u wan to buy). I bought one from him, that modem is a "virgin" set , meaning when i took delivery of it, it was still wrapped in its plastic wrapper inside the box. Before this, i bought one UMG1831 from another seller , damn it, the connection just get disconnected cause the seller flashed the modem into a FW which is not its ori FW and hence it sucks big time. Then i tested 3 of his UMG and all 3 too sucks.

and MYstombox UMG1831 was a tempered UMG1831, hence it sucks too.

infact a seller in LYN also sell this UMG at a very cheap price but he state very clearly this modem only have a one month warranty,

if you guys check back my postings in the Maxis thread, i have posted very good speedtest result that i have screenshot together with the dailer on the UMG

my UMG on MDMA it shows the QoS for Download is 16000kbps , meaning it can achieve 16Mbps without anyproblem if you are in the "right location" but Upload is only 2048kbps, so how can the user claim he can get so high on Upload?

i have a Huawei UMG1831 (21Mbps) , ZTE MF691 (21Mbps) , Icon 505M (14.4Mbps), 2# YES Zoom, 2#YES Dongle, 2#Huawei 5832-S MiFi, a D Link Pocket Router MiFi, a few 7.2Mbps Huawei's,ZTE's and CSL and a TP Link MR3420 router too

pls dun ask me to sell any of them as i love all my modems as these are my "wine and cigars"

I bought my first USB modem, a ZTE MF622 for rm500. This was a Umobile bundled modem with Postpaid Broadband Plan but somehow those Distributors managed to sell it out for rm500 each as UM will bill its customers rm1200 if they decide to terminate the subscription (tied to a 1 year contract). There is another USB modem, Huawei E220, selling rm1200, contractless at that time.

Later i managed to source those modems (ZTE MF622) and opened a thread selling them to users here for rm500 too.

UMG 1831 speedtest on the backdrop of a download



UMG is sufficient on our current network, some sellers are selling them for abt rm150 now, why get a higher priced similiar modem where the network can only support this much?

better save your $$ for a Dual Purpose, LTE and HSPA Plus modem. ( my target )

abt E372, i believe its a only tad better than UMG, dun believe me, buy it and compare with my UMG,MF691 or Icon505

i can help you to order from my distro @rm350 each,

no need la, i buy straight from its suppliers and suppose to register a postpaid broadband , but if u choose not to register also can la

if u register, u have to pay upfront rm350, the rm100 will be rebated in 5mths X rm20, then = rm100 also.

but u dun have to get tied over the rm68 X 5 mths of broadband services ( or rm48x5 , after the rm20 x 5 rebates )

but, mind you i duno how to unlock this MF60 yet

RMA it, simple,it have one year warranty, check with the UM SC

btw, the Lelong guy sells cheaper le, rm299 and its unlock too

can use on maxis/skmm

You should test

1) 5~7am speedtest, raw and with Mr3420
2) use MDMA to test the 900 and 2100 band
3) direct download via IDM and screenshot the speed

btw, your QoS is the same as my UMG1831 and Maxis have the cheek to claimed that they are 21Mbps Ready and Enabled

From the above, i have this to say.......

UMTS900 only gives you QoS DL of only 2048 , whereas UMTS2100 is 15000

But your speedtest on UMTS900 gives a speedtest of 7.98Mbps, did you mixed up the ST result ?

Your UMTS900 signal is really STRONG

I also noticed over here that on UMTS2100, when i have a higher DL (5~8Mbps) , the Upload speed will sucks, likewise when the DL is so so, say 2~3Mbps, the Upload tends to peak at 2.80Mbps

I was told that Malaysia's LTE bandwidth is 2.6ghz and my target LTE /DC HSDPA/HSPA+ modem runs on LTE 700mhz, so how now, to buy this rm470 modem or just buy E372 (rm450) ? cause Maxis claims that come Q42012, Maxis will be running 42Mbps Dual Channel......(ours is unlimited 3G internet)
