only with 100+ can result is better, without 100+ can result slightly lower,..

but stable % is incredible,.. try it to see it yourself ^^

am also considering HUawei B660,. dont really need any high speed, just wanted a bigger machine.. usb device soemtimes feel like lacking power, and no matter what u do, the stamina confirm there is up down a little,. big device like those performances + power is confirm better

was waiting /checking the confirm news for Big Pond Elite 3G21WB 21mbps, dual usb ports, but mostly likely think i will get HUawei B660 ( to play safe since maxis set ) if no news turn up for big pond

yea, just only once a while feel like usb modem dont power enough,.... and performance might drop no matter how stable. compare with ZTE MF600, i would say ZTE MF600 way more stable than icon 505..

i have both of them, of course i know that even though ZTE MF600 is only 3.6Mbps HSDPA only, but in my area is able to concentrate in better signal with the external antenna original, and also on for 24/7 for heavy duty and stamina didnt drop a bit ,.. while the icon 505, if use with TL-MR3420 router, overnight it will drop to UMTS2100MHz 3G from UMTS 2100MHz HSPA when the router try to redial after DC,.. most place in penang also similar case,

while ZTE MF600 only support UMTS2100MHz alone without the 900MHz, seems better , and more concentrate, that's why i am considering about the big pond ( support 2100MHz only )..

if i can find " the way " to upgrade to flash zte mf600 -> 7.2Mbps, i confirm wont buy any other modem

already tested E353, "die" in my area,.. after overnight same symptom, it jump from UMTS2100MHz HSPA+ -> UMTS2100MHz WCDMA

that's why i say bigger device is perform better than usb modem and stable never DC in 48 ~72 hour straight

yea, that is the main problems.but i tested with maxis postpaid sim, prepaid sim, prepaid broadband sim, multisim and hotlink sim,. all is like that,. once go down WCDMA stucl there whole night..

no matter which device also same.. and i though if i run online radio or CMD pinger, it wil stay HSPA+, still end up switch to WCDMA anytime...

that's why i am very glad i am moving to new area end of this month, tested in new area that is exactly like yours,..

yea check the RSSI, if RSSI bad signal, i think using more power and your modem is hotter,.

in most cases, icon 505 will get lower ping than UMG1831,.. unless u are in perfect direction and connected to less congested nearer base station,..

try to install from hhere

and it keep saying need IE 5 above,zzzzzz which i am using window 8 IE 10,...

Tips :

some new experiments i just done for improve my USB modem signal,.

u need 1 stainless steel mug with cover & 1 usb extension cable

PLace it like the photo shown, and up side down the mug cover , place your USB modem on top of it and slow turn it a bit by bit to find perfect direction,.. it work amazing for me and my speed stabilize easily,. remember try to download a very big huge file when u tweak your stainless steel cover around to find best direction,

Note: sometimes best signal not guarantee you best speed,. best direction is more important than best signal,..

Both Icon 505 and Icon 505m is confirm Hotter than any other modem Due to using more power to gain better signal and Lower Ping,..

any stainless steel item,.. it will really reflect the signal and concentrate it, try it when u download a big file,.. when the direction is correct, u will see higher + stable speed,.

Qualcomm chipset series 8200 above is amazing performances and consistency, so if that mifi is using same series, than is value buy for sure,...

yea, those qualcomm is the latest chipset,. and really stable in signa, very strong and able to capture it so your signal RSSI wont be moving at all,.

i usually google the specs for it,.
