Guys... Been reading all ur comments for awhile.. I have a l2s here.. My gf is driving it.. But recently I found out a lot of internal damages in the car... May I know if any sifus can recommend me some reputable workshop? I wanna do some major repairs and might just go for a little project for this car.. Can't sleeping thinking abt the wear and tear in the car..

Maybe I will just go for a complete overhaul on the engine to change all the bushings and mountings in the car.. I notice the driveshaft is out too.. And steering rack seems to have some issues..( not really sure). I would want it have a little more performance as I will be taking over to maintain it now.. Maybe can go for some night cruise.. So will be better if everything is in place.. May I know how much will it cost so I can save up to do all these..

Oh ya... And if I want to redo all the wirings in the car..
It will be good if everything can be done in 1 workshop.

the horn button left side spoilt, right side must press hard then got sound.

Open the steering wheel and the button spoilt already.





the contact spoilt already, i put screw driver to connect the points. horn very loud.

I've been thinking also whether to overhaul or drop in a jbjl.. Any sifu can enlighten me if which path I should take.. I'm in dilemma now..

since u said need loads of things to do... overhaul la... wiring la... mounting la... drive shaft la... better use ur money and change engine as a whole.

check JBJL engine price and then compare what u want to do.... i can assure u u'll be spending more money of fixing than doing all those stuff...

but the thing about transplant an engine is the puspakom. if u hire a runner to do it then u save time but u'll be spending a bit.

I've checked and it cost me rm3200 for halfcut and labour.. Izzit expensive?

Wats the reliability of a jbjl engine? I see u guys discuss a lot on maintaining one as parts are hard to find. Izzit really that hard to find?

just buy engine... should be cheaper.... i was quote for rm1.4k for just the engine only complete with wiring. now days jbjl parts are easy to find. beside what do u want to find? head gasket also easy to find nowdays... turbo? just use bigger turbo le if the turbo kong...

reliability depends la on ur engine condition. halfcut condition is like gambling. this is where the foreman at ur selected workshop will choose a good engine to install on ur car. unless u have the time to hunt for urself, this is when a good rapport with the foreman will come handy...

4 piston engine got less vibration than 3 stroke engine where its good for cruising. if u are crazy for speed well 3 stroke is your option.

Good to know that! But I think there's no more 1.4k just engine with wirings.. I think I'll go for the half cut unit.. I hope the engine is real good.. Do I need to overhaul the engine b4 putting in? Or normally they will do it? Can I trade in my l2s engine?

usually trade in is accepted..if not u may want to sell on yourself..overhaul before putting in the engine usually different cost and may costing a bit. normally the shop will plug and play..
if they give warranty, which may cover alternator, turbo kong, its ur luck if not, just prepare some extra money. ask for the quotation and what they change while transplant the engine..such as engine oil, belting, etc..

if u know where to look then yes there still have. i was quoted this price like 2 -3 months ago. if u wanna buy halfcut and u wanna use most of the halfcut then i guess its worth it. if u really just wanna change the engine why waste money buy whole halfcut?
yes u can tarde in with ur old engine but dont expect much out of it.

if you know where to sell and market price, you can buy whole CKD.
for example i bought complete L512 for rm4.5k, then i sell the part i dont want. at the end the price of engine & wiring is about 800 only.
but its take time to get buyer.
