Yep! I felt the same way too... In my mind, I was thinking, if you need to make others look bad in order to look good, then you aren't any good to begin with.
*

Incidently I drove my wife's Myvi to the showroom...they wanna treat their potential customers like this, why should I give them my money?? shakehead.gif

Btw, I got treated really really well when i followed my fren to Glenmarie BMW showroom...somemore I'm looking only.
*

*
if u know how big is sime darby, you'll know that they dont have time for this kind of surprise smile.gif

they have billions of business in various sector.

for cars they have BMW, Ford, Inokom, and hyundai.

go google, you'll be surprised smile.gif

so i think malaysia market is not a big deal after all.

However remember that SD also offer low spec elantra at competitive price so they still have the chances to penetrate the market. 1.8 is only to cater premium consumers who were not too price sensitive. Price sensitive consumer go buy low spec.

(Now i see the reason why SG doesnt sell 1.8.)
*
they will get slaughtered in 1.6 region, for 85k-95k. see previous page on their competitor in that region.

fiesta, city, vios, forte, mazda 3, pug308(non turbo) , without local car intervention.

this kind of car ,if you buy low spec, namely 1.6 at 85k, a few years/months down the road, you'll regret, because, you dont feel luxury, you dont feel fast, not many gadgets, and there's many other choices with better spec or better power. this is a tough fight.

Not entirely true. The best selling spec for the Forte is the 1.6SX at 85,800. If the 1.6 Elantra is priced at 85-90k it will affect the Forte 1.6SX sales.
*
you have a point there....this is an interesting fight then, entirely on forte vs elantra
but.....for me i'll go for elantra for fresh look and new model.

BUT...depends on the actual spec biggrin.gif

85k seems like 1.6 manual elantra smile.gif
i can guess its 95k for 1.6 full spec.

1.6 elantra (95k) vs 2.0 forte(97.5k).

whats the verdict?

Why Elantra much better than any car in same class like civic?
It won North american COTY award not because it had more gadgets but
1st- Design. More personality and excitement than most cars in the compact segment.
2nd- Spacious interior. wt 110.4 cubic ft it's larger than any competitors in same class. The space same as D-segment car.
3rd- The Elantra's 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder engine gets an EPA-estimated 40 mpg on the highway in any trim. Even 1.6 also rated at 40mpg globally. No need special gadget like competitors.
4th Value for money?

Basically the letter states that Hyundai overstated the fuel economy of the Elantra. Many independant car tests & owner reports revealed that the fuel economy is no where close to what Hyundai claims. They now requesting an official enquiry into this and if proven, they asking for Hyundai to be given stiff penalties.

thanks.

guess the figure is off by too much, until ppl start questioning it, smile.gif

Please la. This is Elantra thread, this my will be my last post about this. I am neither BN or PR supporters, I am neutral.
In general normal rakyat view, Cronies in PR worse than BN as U can see normal rakyat like us hardly to be a leader or control their party. It being control by cronies from generation to generation at same time. In other word, it's family business.
For example (just name a few), anwar, wan azizah, nurul, azmin ali etc..
lim kit siang, lim guan eng, betty chew etc
karpal singh, Jagdeep singh, Gobind singh etc and many more..
They had control the party by cronies & family and had wide range of business too. They are millionaires if not billionaires.
Most of the time, their post is unchallengeable post and their power cant be denied.
*
so you can challenge majib post and nanathir power? ahhahahahahahahaha.

if they are not in power, so they are already millioanire, how about those in power? they are poorer or richer? talk with common sense man.

normal chap like you and i needs to work to find a living and can only look at those cheap cars under 100k. so you dont have time to go for politic. ok? understand?

now lets talk cars.

I understand your frustration and that is why we don't blame you. We all very well knows who is calling the shots here.

Just out of curiousity, are you saying that the cost of the car at our malaysian ringgit cannot cover the cost as this is a suprise to me.
*
in layman's term , its

take it or leave it.

yes, if you're not asking for phone number for booking, you're trolling, simple as that.

If you ask question that i cannot answer, you're trolling

if you ask question not in my favor, you're trolling

proper discussion is to sing praise, praise the North America car of the year

i'm trolling here.

ignore me, because i just bought a car, and wont buy any in the near future, i'm a troll.

guys, to be fair, its not fair to compare the price of naza forte.

naza forte the price is very close to p1/p2. stripe off (6 airbags) all the accessories forte 2.0 will be cheaper than proton inspira 2.0.

this is unfair pricing, of cos we wont complain to gomen, but we cannot use this as a yardstick for all korean cars.

but we dont see the similar pricing on kia optima(maybe not CKD, thats why)

i think it still points back to the mudah advertisement.

will u leak a good news(for your benefit) ? or will you leak a bad news?(for your benefit)

Good or bad, i dun really care much... but i just need to know...

a lot of us are waiting, to make the decision to continue to pursue this car.... it's just unfair to make all of us wait... delay after delay.... Sept 11 to Q4 11 to Dec 11 to Feb 12.......
*
might be a tactic to make you hold your purchase. or, its just a simple delay biggrin.gif

CVT with 7 virtual gear ratio... CVT gearbox is cheaper to made compared to the more sophisticated 6AT... That's why Proton and some japanese car maker are choosing CVT because of lower cost...
*
yes, so that they can give you good car at low price.

US don't like Auto? Time for you to check their website and you will see how many car models and how many trims do they get a manual gearbox smile.gif
And it is a fact that they don't like CVT.. u may spend some time reading some of their articles or watch some video review in youtube. And try to look out why people in US and Europe talking about CVT whine and rubber band effect, which are the two main reasons why a lot of people don't like CVT gearbox.
*
they always want some instant power. they love torque, so even their camry mainly is 3.5, no 2.0, and 2.4 very few to be seen.
