A lot of case study show that there almost no significant different of safety using DRL or not in bright country like USA, Mexico or Msia.
The safety benefit produced by DRLs in relatively dark Nordic countries like Norway, Finland, Russia, Canada or some Europe countries are more significant.
Somemore DRL will increased fuel consumption up to 5% than normal. & of course DRL systems will increase CO2 emissions as it get power from engine.
Do we really need DRL? Hm..
Err, even the most powerful OEM DRLs use around 5-6W per side. That's totally insignificant lol. Just ask yourself, do you notice a Lexus CT300 (hybrid), Audi and Merc better, especially in your rear view mirror? How did you come up with that 5% figure? That's totally way off, dude. And don't forget, many Malaysians still don't understand the importance of turning on their lights when it is dark, regardless of the time of day.
How many times have you entered a tunnel and noticed some idiot in a black car with no lights on?
How many times have you noticed cars not turning on their headlights in an indoor car park?
How many times when it suddenly pours in the afternoon, visibility drops and yet many ar$eholes forget to turn on their lights just because they think they are Superman with super vision, when the fact is the lights are meant for other drivers to notice them?
If you value your life, the lives of those who drive your car, and to prevent scratching that precious ori bodykit, why not invest a small amount on a pair of DRLs?
If you drive a black, silver, grey, dark grey and even white coloured car, your car is at risk of blending in to the environment.
I've noticed another thing too. When my DRLs are switched on, they are really bright and will get noticed easily. I look at pedestrians as I'm driving towads them and from the corner of their eye they will catch that bling and turn their heads. It's a perfectly natural reaction and hence, make them aware of your presence.
