But the look of elantra alone will be convincing enough for many people... just like how the civic managed to be so popular at that time... proton tuah is way too dull and conservative compared to elantra and even forte... the design is not cohesive as a whole especially the interior and showing the lack of experience of car maker... the exora steering is a huge turn off for me...

Logically it's depend on buyers. I also find it weird to see why people or my friends who prefer buy old lancer or Inspirated.

My guess that there are some kind of fans of this MIVEC or VTEC in Bolehland.
Pelik bila lihat EG or EK civic still can sell 20-40K although already more 15 yrs old.
Same story, my friends still buy 2nd hand lancer although I tell them a lot of car better. Hmmm.. MIVEC & VTEC special case.

But I believe the styling is one of the major factor that rocketed the Civic's sales. People who don't know much about cars will not bother to care about the i-Vtec or how many gears or performance... If you talking about those factors, Lancer is quite similar yet Lancer was selling badly compared to Civic even before it was Proton-ised. If you are to talk about generations of success, I believe Corolla had better reputation than Civic. Then you look at Sonata and Tucson, both of them don't have much reputation compared to the Japanese yet they are selling at decent numbers now. There are still many people don't care (or know) much about the spec or mechanical of the cars but they care about the styling of the cars if they are indifferent about the resale value or reputation or after sales.

Latio selling so badly maybe Nissan no reputation also... But then GL selling so well...

Please... It's not that Ah Peks only will buy D-segment, only Ah Peks can *afford* D-segment in this country thanks to you know what. If your thinking is so narrow then you will one day become an Ah Pek who drives a Camry because you think this is what Ah Peks should be driving and.

Nope, the previous Avante didn't have much of what is offered on the Forte including the engines, plus it looked a little funny from the front. And because SD was the company behind it 

i told my uncle and some of my family older member say i wan buy korean car...
they say:are you crazy?bodoh?y buy korean car?no good la,fuel comsumption high la,no resale value la..blahh..blah...
they fucuk me like hell ..lolz..

seen that most of older generation in thier mind only T and H or conti car...

Sorry to say that GOA is a joke to me... Cars like Avanza and Innova also can claim GOA.. One of their GOA body European model only got 3-star in EuroNCAP two years ago.. Avanza with GOA body? ChinaNCAP achieved 3-star (Daihatsu Xenia in China)...
So i can't quite understand the usefulness of GOA.. Are they trying to ruin their GOA with 3-star car? Or is it that GOA body will vary from 3 to 5 star? Then what is the whole point of GOA I also can't understand. Because when you get a GOA car then your car can be ranging among 3 to 5...

So GOA is just a marketing jargon from Toyota. Yet the jargon doesn't really live up to its name.
People may start questioning how come Global "Outstanding" Assessment achieved 3 stars. Does 3-stars equivalent to outstanding?
