Thought Downing was easily the best player we had on pitch today. The rest were piss poor and that includes Bellamy, Gerrard and co.

gerrard is from different class compare to his teamates... only suarez is on the same level... and our ex-torres... pity gerrard couldnt do more to help the team to overturn the result... the age is not on his side as not many years left in him... sigh

It isn't the world's best kept secret that Andy Carroll is struggling to replicate his form at Newcastle. He's looked sluggish and out of sorts since signing for us. Many have noted that some of our deliveries especially from crosses are often misplaced and this could be a reason for Carroll's innefectiveness. In our game against Newcastle, Steven Gerrard came on an instantly delivered at least 2 tellling crosses that Carroll got to, one that ricocheted of the bar. His delivery was inch perfect and Carroll didn't even need to generate that much power. He just needed to direct it towards goal which he did and he was unlucky to score. Is it but mere coincidence Carroll had two chances almost instantanously after Gerrard came on? Could it be that he's actually struggling because service has been poor? I'm not making excuses here, I must say he does look unfit sometimes but we didn't buy him for his mobility did we? He simply isn't that sort of player. He's more like a battering ram like Heskey but with better footwork.

Could it also be that Carroll is suffering from the same stereotype Peter Crouch did? When he was on the pitch, players would ignore the fact that Crouchy was pretty good with his feet and they kept playing high crosses to him. He wasn't really strong in the air, he was just really tall. When Carroll's on the pitch we feel compelled to change our game plan and play high balls into the opposition box, where Carroll is often crowded out. Maybe we should stick to the same gameplan regardess of whether or not Carroll is in the side?

I think we should give carroll some time, his still young, I can still remember years back when every1 is bombarding lucas and look now, he's in every1's heart. All they need is time especially when they're young, there's a reason why rafa backs lucas up years backs and there must be reason why kenny still protects carroll now.

On a side note, critics does play a part in making what lucas is today. Lol.

It's always sad when players leave, especially ones who give their all for the club. I've no doubt that even after leaving Kuyt will forever remain a fan of the club much like Erik Meijer, Veggard Haggem, Jason McAteer, Xabi Alonso, Bruce Grobbelar, just to name a few. Did anyone see the picture of Mad Erik in his Liverpool kit screaming his head off in a bar during "that night" in Istanbul? I've attached it just in case you missed it. Brucie was watching the same match at a bar in his native Zimbabwe and as we went 3-0 down, a fan started criticising the team. Brucie rip right into him. "You are not a Liverpool fan!". I've no doubt that Kuyt is in the same vein as these lot.

I have to agree though that 10 mil is a good bit of business and since he's fallen down the pecking order, it would be bitter sweet to see him go but he needs regular football especially if he still wants to adorn a bright Oranje jersey.

Jesus Navas is good for us for winger?

There were suggestions that he may leave given the treatment he's received over this racism saga. Won't blame him if he did. The abuse is not likely to stop what with the FA smothering John Terry in bubble wrap whilst leaving Suarez to fend for himself. I still find it pathetic that mancs were chanting "Suarez is racist" when they played Fulham while Suarez was nowhere near the stadium. Also, from the lack of action when he was abused against Wigan. Why the double standards? How much can one man take? Can you just imagine the reception he'll get when we visit Old Trafford? (yes, I can say it without needing to turn it into an insulting word).
