Well, to each his own right. But I almost fell off my chair when i read "We should be grateful for having a world-class traditional winger (one of the few in the world)."

Made my morning.

When Gerrard came on yesterday, the atmosphere changed and so was the gameplay. He delivered amazing crosses, world class but Caroll failed to take his chances. It's still embarrassing to see him wearing that number 9 shirt with Gerrard on the field. Should've done better. All I can see from Caroll's eyes were fear, fatigue and lack of confidence.

Bellamy, Skrtel and Gerrard were amazing. The old boys showing the new ones how it's played. Bellamy was just amazing. Pacy, sharp and full of energy. Newcastle's defense were broken continuously with him and Enrique on the left. I guess I can see now why Carragher is struggling to get into the starting XI. Amazing save by Skrtel. Fearless and sharp. Gerrard is well, being Gerrard. You can see what the team was missing when Gerrard played yesterday.

Downing and Johnson didn't disappoint me that much; except that they're still plenty selfish, especially Downing. His finishing sucked(s). Spearing played well in the midfield. You can still feel we're missing something in the middle though.

Henderson appeared so little I forgot he was on the pitch sometimes......

If Liverpool pull this Cahill deal, it would be the stupidest thing they do this year. What happened to the buying-young-and-talented-players-and-groom-them policy? We'd be better off grooming Coates. Defense is solid right now with Agger and Skrtel. What we lack now are goals. Cahill has been terrible for half the season. Please please please don't do it.

Darren Bent. Another overrated and overpriced English player. What happened to wanting to invest in youth? No to Cahill and Bent. We have a better team of youths waiting to be played. There's a reason why Barcelona rated our youth team as the most dangerous after their own.

What's more, with the price tag of more than 20mil, we could sign Soldado, and maybe both Cavani and Podolski with that price tag. I'd go with Cavani. Two Uruguayans up front. And before the lot of you say "like hell they'll go to liverpool", let's look back at Suarez. Nobody was expecting us to get Suarez, and here we are. If Kenny can sign a 35mil flop (cue the flame), for sure he can sign one of those guys.

It seemed like Liverpool only tried to score TRYING to cross to Carroll. When he does get the ball, all he did was passed back. Midfield totally outclassed by Man City. No creativity at all. Lucas did a damn good job in the midfield after I saw this morning's game. Reina was very very poor. I still don't fuking understand why Kenny started Adam and Henderson when he could start two of Liverpool's best players this season and our fit captain.

Thought Downing was easily the best player we had on pitch today. The rest were piss poor and that includes Bellamy, Gerrard and co.
*
Dude they came on the last 30+ minutes of the game. The game was already downhill from there. Would you dare to bet if they started instead of Henderson/Downing/Adam, the result would be the same?

gerrard is from different class compare to his teamates... only suarez is on the same level... and our ex-torres... pity gerrard couldnt do more to help the team to overturn the result... the age is not on his side as not many years left in him... sigh

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 4 2012, 04:46 PM)
It isn't the world's best kept secret that Andy Carroll is struggling to replicate his form at Newcastle. He's looked sluggish and out of sorts since signing for us. Many have noted that some of our deliveries especially from crosses are often misplaced and this could be a reason for Carroll's innefectiveness. In our game against Newcastle, Steven Gerrard came on an instantly delivered at least 2 tellling crosses that Carroll got to, one that ricocheted of the bar. His delivery was inch perfect and Carroll didn't even need to generate that much power. He just needed to direct it towards goal which he did and he was unlucky to score. Is it but mere coincidence Carroll had two chances almost instantanously after Gerrard came on? Could it be that he's actually struggling because service has been poor? I'm not making excuses here, I must say he does look unfit sometimes but we didn't buy him for his mobility did we? He simply isn't that sort of player. He's more like a battering ram like Heskey but with better footwork.

Could it also be that Carroll is suffering from the same stereotype Peter Crouch did? When he was on the pitch, players would ignore the fact that Crouchy was pretty good with his feet and they kept playing high crosses to him. He wasn't really strong in the air, he was just really tall. When Carroll's on the pitch we feel compelled to change our game plan and play high balls into the opposition box, where Carroll is often crowded out. Maybe we should stick to the same gameplan regardess of whether or not Carroll is in the side?
*
There were some low passes directed to Caroll; but when he got the ball, all he did was passed backwards and we lost possession. There's no harm in trying you know, especially in yesterday's game. Look at Suarez. Most of the time when he got the ball inside or just about 4-5 yards outside the penalty box, he tried to be creative instead of passing it backwards all the time. Sure we lost a lot of possession, but a lot of times, we got something out of it. Remember the last year Man Utd game? That's what we need in the team.

.. and Suarez scored with a header this season. Did Carroll score one with his head? whistling.gif

I think we should give carroll some time, his still young, I can still remember years back when every1 is bombarding lucas and look now, he's in every1's heart. All they need is time especially when they're young, there's a reason why rafa backs lucas up years backs and there must be reason why kenny still protects carroll now.
*
Yeah but he was like what 5mil pound? He took 2 ++ years to get where he is now. Caroll? 35mil pound? How long do we have to wait for him? A year? Suarez is only two years older than Carroll and about 10 mil cheaper than him. Did we have to wait for him?

Remember when we had the best midfield in the world? We even sang a song about it. "We’ve got Xabi Alonso… Momo Sissoko… Gerrard and Mas-cher-aaaaa-noooooo!”

Says the team who lost 1-6 in old trafford. And they had 3cbs when they lost a man and the best team in the league. no shame in that.

On a side note, critics does play a part in making what lucas is today. Lol.

oh and back then Lucas had to compete with Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko, Masch and co. Plus he was in an entirely new environment. The weather, the foods, the friends, the language, etc.. Can you imagine the kind of pressure he had back then? Compared to that, Carroll has it very very very very easy.

Kuyt for 10mil

I agree with this. If we can get 10mil for Kuyt that would be great. He's done enough for the club. That 10mil transfer fee has been paid fully. He's not in the starting XI anymore and after this morning game, i think it's time for him to move on. Whatever the final decision is, best of luck to him. He'll always be remembered as one of the Reds. I'm not just saying this for the money, but for his sake as well. I feel like Liverpool held him for so long already. Rafa screwed him and he still stays. He's not getting the starting XI but is still willing to stay. He's one of those honest and sincere players that is really hard to come by. He works harder than anyone in the field. His passion is second to none. I remember the look on his face when Enrique made that bad attempt of goal instead of passing it to Kuyt. Priceless. I think a January move would be best for him. He can focus on Euro 2012 and get more game time with a move. The fact is that now we need more players in the team and that every pound is valuable.

Good luck Dirk Kuyt. You'll Never Walk Alone.

It's always sad when players leave, especially ones who give their all for the club. I've no doubt that even after leaving Kuyt will forever remain a fan of the club much like Erik Meijer, Veggard Haggem, Jason McAteer, Xabi Alonso, Bruce Grobbelar, just to name a few. Did anyone see the picture of Mad Erik in his Liverpool kit screaming his head off in a bar during "that night" in Istanbul? I've attached it just in case you missed it. Brucie was watching the same match at a bar in his native Zimbabwe and as we went 3-0 down, a fan started criticising the team. Brucie rip right into him. "You are not a Liverpool fan!". I've no doubt that Kuyt is in the same vein as these lot.

I have to agree though that 10 mil is a good bit of business and since he's fallen down the pecking order, it would be bitter sweet to see him go but he needs regular football especially if he still wants to adorn a bright Oranje jersey.

He's faster, more creative and superior dribbling skill compared to Downing. I'm not sure though he will move to Premier League. Chelsea tried to bought him but he declined with the reason "homesickness".

Plus his name is cooler rclxms.gif

There were suggestions that he may leave given the treatment he's received over this racism saga. Won't blame him if he did. The abuse is not likely to stop what with the FA smothering John Terry in bubble wrap whilst leaving Suarez to fend for himself. I still find it pathetic that mancs were chanting "Suarez is racist" when they played Fulham while Suarez was nowhere near the stadium. Also, from the lack of action when he was abused against Wigan. Why the double standards? How much can one man take? Can you just imagine the reception he'll get when we visit Old Trafford? (yes, I can say it without needing to turn it into an insulting word).
*
Option 1=Buy a new striker ASAP and get him on the field instead of Suarez. Try to slowly get Suarez on the field again and get him to score goals to prove he's worth it.

Option 2=Start him and get him to score. I'm sure once he scores the mancs will pipe down.

Two options, for me.
