not sure if its optical illusion, but prius c looks very wide.
*
From reviews, they claim Prius C have slightly more spacious cabin then Insight.

I am 6'1" tall and I did sit at the back of the Insight and its no no....roof too low. Cannot pay for a 100k car(in sarawak) where the rear passenger seat cannot fit me.

Latio is very comfortable biggrin.gif Actually I won't be sitting at the back, but I don't want the back to be cram too.

Latio of course.. u look at the odd shape of that car...  like a match box with over size center cabin size.. laugh.gif

Latio has got the most comfort with soft material dashboard yet not many people buy it. Yet I see so many complaint bout the comfort of the Prius C! rclxub.gif

I think it is undisputed who has the better hybrid technology so no point arguing over that anymore. With the launch of the Jazz Hybrid in Malaysia and the pricing which favors more towards the Prius C, I can see the Prius C gaining more sales now.

Reason of cancel booking? Not worthy to buy? Due to the poor design of interior?
*
People cancel the booking of Jazz Hybrid due to the disappointment of the price. Honda salesman predict around Rm85k but end up Rm94+ so a lot of disappointment.

But Jazz still have its market, even though technology wise still not as good.

Tomorrow gonna test drive Prius C, hope the performance & feature won't turn me off.
*
After test drive, can provide a detail review of your test drive?

-Toyota announced today that the Prius C sold 1,201 units in just the first three days it was on sale, outsells monthly totals of Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf in three days.

-If anything, those 1,201 sales are not as impressive as the C managed in Japan (where it is badged 'Aqua') – Toyota obtained 120,000 orders in the first five days it was on sale.

-Prius V sold about 8,400 units in the U.S. in the first ten weeks.

Toyota have great success with the Prius car and likely will do very well in Malaysia. But how long will the gov't give tax exemption to hybrid?

Untul potong comes out with its own model. cry.gif

That is quite unlikely if we look at the technical difficulty of making a hybrid. Even Honda don't have a true hybrid solution.

I've tested the new Jazz Hybrid yesterday, when the car just arrived for test drive. I've tested both Prius C and Honda Jazz Hybrid, and now I understand why alot of people cancelled the booking on the Honda Jazz (If that's what I read correctly in a few earlier posts tongue.gif).

Honda really dont have the true hybrid yet and with that Honda Jazz price, I would rather (definitely soooo much rather) save RM3k+ more for the Prius C because of its technology.
*
Can you give more details of the test drive and the comparison like comfort, built, cabin size, power and sound proofing etc?

They know that the ima is no match for the synergy hybrid. The only reason the Insight can sell is because there is not competition back then , but the ball game is changing with the launch of the Prius C.

Is the interior color of the Prius C dependent on the exterior color? Do they have option for other interior color?

Nope, the interior got only one same standard colour, with the aqua strip. it's quite sad that they dont have leather option sad.gif

But I believe there will be more stuff in their next prius release.

The next Prius is maybe another year or more....and maybe no more tax exemption by then.

Added on March 17, 2012, 2:41 pmAnyone know how is the Prius C warranty like...especially the battery?

I think I saw that it was only 3 years or 100,000km, whichever comes first. For Honda the salesperson told me it's 5 years or 140,000km.

But from what I read so far on the news and reviews that the old Prius doesn't seem to have any major problems so far on the batteries. Don't know how true is that biggrin.gif
*
3 Years only or 100,000km. That is really disappointing. Toyota seems to have very little confident in their batteries for such a short warranty.

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Mar 18 2012, 12:07 AM)
finally tested today after the car went on "Tour" for 1 week. (meaning the car was sent to those small showroom for customer test drive)

I bring along my gf and ask her to sit behind and start my test drive.

overall, I am enjoying the quiet ride although there was one point of time i was trying to rev while climbing uphill...hahaha (purposely one)

after we left, I asked my gf opinion on the back seat. She told me that if any people with big tummy and around 160cm will having a hard time sitting at the back because it only allow your legs to sit straight and the distance between legs and front seat is really limited compared to her myvi.

What about the built quality eg the dashboard material solid, seat cushion material?

What driving mode did you use and does affect the power?

My wife say she saw the car in Kuching Spring Mall. She say its quite small car. Maybe just keep her Altis and safe all the hassle.
