guys, any xp with getting after sales support for EEE pc? im afraid its a cheapo-skate kinda service.. like the previous asus ones...
*
Asus's after sales support is not very good unfortunately...
Can consider Dell and Toshiba instead, but warranty coverage for netbooks are usually for one year only

Hi everyone!

Need some model recommendations:

1. Preferred Brand
- No preference, but definitely not Sony

2. Budget
- Preferably not more than RM4K

3. Usage
- Mostly for music/video, movie playback, heavy Internet surfing & moderate gaming.

4. Preferred laptop/screen size
- Looking at above 15" widescreen full-HD LEDs
- Must have normal Numpad layout (on the right, like desktop keyboard) on keyboard
- Heavy weight is OK

Thanks TJ!

How about comparison against these:
Asus N55SF-SX352v, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT555M + 1600x900 + Bluray@RM3699[Bang & Olufsen]; USB3.0, Sonic Master subwoofer
I suppose this is not full-HD?

HP Dv6-6114TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770M + BluRay@RM3799 [Beats][2.63kg], [4GB RAM] Beats headphones, HP optical mouse, HP 500GB external HDD
Nvidia better in notebook cards compared to AMD?
*
The G series is the clear winner laugh.gif
It has a relatively more powerful GPU~
And since its made to be a gaming laptop, it should cool better as well smile.gif

Wah, don't like that ar laugh.gif

Yeah, the thing is a lot of users expected too much from the Aspire series, that's why they complain alot... you get what you pay for..

Each brand has its own line of laptops, some good, some not that good laugh.gif
You can take a look at Dell, Asus and Toshiba, the more common ones...

2. Budget : less than 2.2k
3. Usage

4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14 inch

my friend need a laptop that are built in quality and have good performance..
the apperance of the laptop isn't important..

Which shop in lowyat plaza have zero interest on purchase?

Try and go for this one: Asus A43Sv-VX264v, i5-2430M + Nvidia GT540M(1GB)@RM2349[2.44kg] *Can get at around RM2.1k after bargain...
Some shops in lyp (Cycom etc.) does offer installment plans

Hi all!
I need some help in laptop recommendation =/
Well my preferred brand will be either ASus or alienware.
Budget wise will be around 4k
Usage mainly on gaming ( bf3 mw ) , able to multitasking smoothly.
In short a gaming laptoP that also suitable to become a workstation for a Programmer.(not iOS development)
Will prefer Great aftersales service/supPort ( alienware ? )
Screensize 14 and above will do

Tyvm!

Asus G53Sx-S1208v, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GTX560M (2GB) + 1920x1080 (anti-glare)@RM3999, backlit keyboard, gaming backpack &mouse

This would be the better pick since you're not exactly very concerned about portability~
The M14x is not as powerful in terms of CPU/GPU. The warranty support is superb, but its only covered for one year, warranty extension will exceed your budget unfortunately sad.gif

oh yeah guys. I've forgotten to add the info that I will also be doing some programming stuffs in the laptop since I'm just a student. I remember TJ recommending the Toshiba Satellite L745-1138X, i3-2330M + Nvidia GT525M@RM1999[2.14kg]. That will do right?
*
The Asus A43Sv (i5-2430M + NVidia GT540M) is a better pick at around RM2.1k since its more balanced (i5 for work, GT540m for game)~
If budget is tight, then yeah, the Toshiba is a good choice nod.gif

Thx for the recommendation. I just checked the spec & weight... it's almost 4 kilo!  rclxub.gif other than that it is awesome! (am considering this too when I do some research)

Just that I need the portability & light weight laptop is because I might work outside & having back pain is not helping... is there any other alternative?
*
Perhaps these 2 then:
HP dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats]
MSI GE620DX-675, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT635M + (1920x1080)@RM3499

They are lighter than the G-series, but are weaker in terms of GPU performance nod.gif

Hi there..
I am currently look forward to buy a small notebook/netbook, and these are models in my list:
ASUS vx6s RM1799
ASUS u32u RM1649

what i want to ask is that will vx6s outperform u32u much?
u32u if overseas got 2 version $509 for win7basic and $449 for DOS.
will asus malaysia having dos version as well? thanks very very much..
*
Nope, we don't have the FreeDOS version here.
Personally I would prefer the U32U although it loses out in performance, but the 13" size and the long battery life is just nice for me hehe~ thumbup.gif

The CPU and GPU are the same. However the N55sf, apart from the larger size, it does have a HD+ (1600x900) screen compared to that (1366x768) of the N45Sf~

Can consider Toshiba's NB520 as well, better speakers, and rubberized surfaces nod.gif
Or Asus 1015b (if still can find) for better performance nod.gif

extra mile would be fine if its explained by performance

As previously recommended nod.gif
The Satellite P745 and 755 would be better in terms of quality and features, but are more expensive. You can always extend warranty to 3 years (RM299 iirc) for peace of mind~

Hello,

I'm

searching for a netbook for office use. Budget is below RM1500.
So far I looked at the netbooks equipped with Fusion APU. Are there other alternatives?

Asus Eee PC 1215B
Lenovo Ideapad S205
HP Pavilion DM1

As far as I know, the Asus Eee does not have Windows 7 Home Premium built in, what about the other 2 models? Since it's the malaysian market I can't really find any info by googling the exact model number...
*
I would recommend getting the Asus u32u instead brows.gif

Hi guys!

I am buying a laptop soon and would like to have you guys, the sifus and experts opinion on my selection as I am really noob in laptops.

1. Preferred Brand: Dell,  HP,  Toshiba, ASUS
2. Budget: 2k - 3.5k
3. Usage:  FIFA 12, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, movies, music, surfing and some middle -end gaming ( more on studying and music actually but occasionally gaming)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14" - 15.6''

I actually have few options in mind. What u guys think of each?

1) ASUS
Intel® Core™ i5 2430M 2.4GHz + 8GB DDR3 RAM + 750GB 5400rpm + NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 2GB DDR3 VRAM @ RM 2899 [ Audio : Bang & Olufsen]

2) TOSHIBA
Satellite P755-1003X
Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM 2.2 GHz + 4GB DDR3 SDRAM+ 750GB HDD (5400rpm) + 2GB NVIDIA GT 540M graphics with Optimus @ RM3299 [Audio: Harman Kardon]

3) HP
DV6-6001TX
Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM + 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 + 750 GB SATA (5400 rpm)+ AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB DDR5) @ RM 3199 [Audio: Beats Sound System]

In general aspects, which is the recommended one? Does the audio really differs between each? how bout the battery life? Does i5 and i7 really make a difference ? I only play games once in a while.

one last question, laptop with i5 2.4 GHz faster or i7 2.2GHz faster?

thank you very much for your time and feedbacks!!!
*
With your budget, you could easily consider these two newer/better ones:
HP dv6-6c19TX, i7-2670QM + AMD HD7690M XT@RM3099[Beats]
MSI GE620DX-675, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT635M + (1920x1080)@RM3499
