I can help you diagnose it.Added on January 17, 2012, 8:40 pmHere is some preview of a new ROM: - Already got rid of TouchWiz, so, this will have new Zeam Launcher, damn light and fast - With this small launcher, I make Launcher "hard to kill" in memory. It will occupied some memory but many benefit. For example, after playing a big game, when you exit, you no longer have to wait! Launcher is always there! Overall, you will have better responsiveness. - Many other build.prob tweaks - Will use this cool ICS theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448394 - Finally managed to compile acro68 kernel no more wifi problem. So, the next big thing, I want to try to modify the kernel to allow OC!!!! This is advance stuff, best to let real developer like acro68 to do it, but while waiting, i will try look into this This post has been edited by cowithgun: Jan 17 2012, 08:40 PM |

not really sure about it's stability. so far no crash or anything.. but i have only tested this new kernel for a few hours. Will let your guys know if anything. but i suspect it'll be stable
the impact of battery also have not measure. i hope some tester will tell me after i release this ROM later. i suspect the impact of battery is not much if you dont do a lot of gaming. this is because there is CPU governor that control the speed of the CPU. in most idle time, like flipping screen, etc, it will use only minimal speed. Currently, I am still using OnDemand governor, although i heard smartass2 governor is better... may be will change that next time... in on demand governor, CPU will increase to max speed only on demand. so, if you just call, text, use phone normally, it will not run at max speed. but if u game a lot, well, i suspect battery will got drained quicker. well, with more power, more heat also... i haven't test the heat part too... hope some testers will let me know. as of now, this should be the fastest SGW there is Attached thumbnail(s) |

I recommend CWM over RZRecovery because it's more stable. Since XDA down, I repost here:
OK, here is V2 of the ROM! Put in so many new stuff I can't count them all, here is the main features as I recall it: 1. Custom OC Kernel! Using base code from acro68. Max freq is now 1.8Ghz! - *Disclaimer*: OC may break your phone! - If this is too much for you, use SetCPU or CPU Master to lower it back to 1.5Ghz. OC is very hardware dependant. If you experience crash too often, this is not for you. - Faster = use more power = more heat = less battery! - Battery life? Have not test! You tell me! - OC code was modified and compiled by a friend... 2. Still using OnDemand default CPU Governor. But there is "Interactive" as well. Read here. - Can change the default in /etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh or use tool. - *WARNING*: Dont try SmartAssV2! According to acro68, its not tuned for this phone. 3. Larger SD Card cache 4. Disable boot up ani (faster boot up!) and many other tweaks from here (thanks KezraPlanes) 5. GPS.conf changed to point to Malaysian's URL, etc. 6. No more TouchWiz! Using Zeam Launcher! So light and small. Launcher now 'stuck' in memory. Take a bit of memory, but it's small. The benefit, no more waiting even after you just finish a big game. Launcher will just pop up! Please support the developer, rate it in Market, visit his thread and thanks him: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=664149 7. Too bad I cannot integrate cris555 excellent ICS theme in this ROM. But you are recommended to install by yourself AFTER you do a first boot and go thru the SetupWizard. Please go thank him here. Get the ROM here: http://www.multiupload.com/7EPWW1GQP0 For non-overclock version: http://www.multiupload.com/44TODYXXQF |

u only need to edit that file if you want to change the default CPU governor.
in "GT-I8150"): echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor can change the ondemand -> interactive if u want. |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Jan 19 2012, 03:18 PM) But android App / game uses both Java and C (or C++) a lot. Kernel, all C (very little ASM) Added on January 19, 2012, 4:11 pm QUOTE(Amroth @ Jan 19 2012, 03:26 PM) I tried updating using the ICS theme to kezra v2 rom before..everything changed but the dock still remains the same as samsung stock...I wonder if it'll happen to this rom also? Sorry, the dock refer to... ? May be later I give some screen shot Added on January 19, 2012, 4:14 pm QUOTE(and.inc @ Jan 19 2012, 03:32 PM) Sorry, didn't include any terminal, lengthly process to get permission from developers...You dont need to run that script. it will get executed everytime during boot up. so, by default, it will use "ondemand" as the governor. to change that, simply open that file, and change that to "interactive". you also can use tool such as CPU Master to set it to "interactive" everytime phone boot up.
