Stagg cymbals are value for money, at the higher end lines. I wouldn't touch the lower end ones though. I have played the DH series and the Myra series, and they do seem pretty alright. The lower end ones turn out like most other crud cymbals lahh. But the DH china is one of the best buys ever.

Do any of you use any smartphone apps for practice or jamming, not just for drums but in general as well? So far i've only purchased an essential one - a metronome app Just wondering what other useful apps are out there.

I traded my AAX crash with a HHX and I'm now in a very... weird phase. Its a good cymbals, but the china flange on this particular HHX crash is slightly weird. Heh. The other ones I tried didn't have this. But oh well.

With good drummer...not so good drums + good drum heads + good tuning skills = Good Drum sound

I'd recommend you to get Evans Hydraulics for your toms, an EMAD for your bass drum.

I'd recommend the Hydraulics, cause firstly, the tend to stay in tune longer, are very durable, and sound pretty good, even on drums that aren't exactly made of the best tonewoods, because of the plies, and the oil, etc. I've used Hydraulics on many drums, from Ludwig's to DWs, for different sessions, and over and above, its always consistent.
