yamato is a pest for shrimps tank, dont get them, they will grab and run with food and will attack smaller dwarf shrimp , they are hardy, I ban and dump them inside guppy tank that I only water change once a mth, they still thrive.
for starter grab at least a 30L tank, use this formula you will know your tank water capacity
length x width x height of tank = tank water capacity in litres.
and to calculate amount of shrimps soil need just use length x width x (desired soil height) = litres of soil needed.
for shrimps just moss is enough.

i bought a CPO(around 2.5cm) last sunday, now she stay in a tank with 100++ RCS , she so afraid and hide inside
an abandoned sponge.    i'm afraid RCS will kill her when she molt.

my 4 feet with lots of red cherry tank,most of them hiding in the seaweed and moss


my set-up
shrimp black soil(top)+ada amazonia(bottom)+sand
ph 6.5
no chiller/fan
temperature around 28-29.2
2 ottos and few dwarf guppies

My Cherry shrimp looks okay now... No more jumping... always stay at the moss

bought it from my friends,in house breeder,not cheap rm20 per pair.i have around 10.My friend say this is special fire yellow golden as this one have stripe behind its back.

I saw in JB here CRS and CBS quite cheap,around RM7 only,but S only. I just bought from him blue pearl shrimp couple.anybody have blue bolt here?

shared my newly acquired blue pearl shrimp,colour not so deep but just trying first.
I just read that this colour is out breed from rili shrimp..?

anyway still don't understand the 'fire' term for shrimp,does the fire mean bright?what i know the breed with stripe behind is called fire yellow golden??same like red sakura also some of them have red deep stripe behind their back.

Yup,now cycling another separate tank for few days.hope they dont interbreed.otherwise the shrimplets going to be green or ugly perhaps.

but there is a kind of moss that grow among the rotten star moss..
the branch and leaves are thicker than my xmass, flame and java moss..
dunno what kind of moss.. 

I think i know what moss hitchhike your starmoss ,it must be moss carpet
Its the same as this moss i posted before.sorry ya darthz,starmoss had been discontinue by supplier for this reason i assume.

Personally i dont prefer java moss as the branch too thin,use picture below from my moss collection for comparison when choosing moss for shrimps.the most recent is taiwan moss.

today will start my holiday. hope they will survive. im worried on my shrimplet since they only 1-2 week old. 
try apply thru SPA. 

i bought at NA last 2 week. But their mother didnt make it. Only 1 orange shrimp left in the tank. Currently im cycling 2 more tank for rili n orange.

how come....my fire red are blooming but the fire yellow are all dying??
