Not sure about it, few days already never notice any extra shell. I never see them molt before too but i do see their molted shell before. I keep red claw crab before but after 1st molt then all die already. That time still young not really do must research on them.

Ya, high humidity but they will stay on land longer than in the water. I actually buy it from Sazuka. How about purple?Nice?Never see them in real eye before. Those feeder shrimp can survive in water without water pump?Wont die?

Wow...You got lobster too?How many tank you actually own? shocking.gif

Purple & red is the same type like RCS got different color only. All my tank got water pump , the terra tank got an internal filter pumping water through
the decor. I have like 11 tank , big & small , biggest is only 2ft , smallest is 4.5L.

shocking.gif shocking.gif So many tank.

I see. I never do research about their species, only their living habits. How long your crab already?

Hope one day can visit all your fish tank brows.gif brows.gif

it is better not to mix feeder shrimps especially the large one in your fancy shrimps tank, not only they will grab all the food but will also chase/attack
your fancy shrimps.

Added on May 15, 2012, 10:40 pm

this 3 only a week plus , i put in the large mama java fern, now all three climb into the fern leaf  blink.gif , as you said they prefer dry place more
then wet land.
*
Mine 2weeks le. Not much different, think is time to set up a crab thread instead of discussing here like bit out of topic biggrin.gif .

Btw I think i will change the set up like yours. I plan to increase the water level and put more plant. Give them more DW, they really like it, always hanging upside down to hide from you. So what your crab like to eat or you always give them live shrimp to hunt blink.gif ?have you try any insect or cricket before?

Previously i got a consistent ph of 5.5 with Amazonia. Then i bring the pH up by adding coral stones into my filter. Getting pH 7.0 now.
*
Bring up the pH is that also mean increase the gH as well? 3-5pieces of coral enough to increase the pH for 1ft tank?I know this question is quite subjective but i still need to ask because i dont own a test kit. Sorry.

QUOTE(L3()nZ @ Jun 14 2012, 12:16 AM)
Rili shrimps are not expensive. Unless u are aiming for those high grades. From my experience....i still prefer breeding fire red or chocolate shrimps.
Rili colors are not that attractive to me...half red half transparent....If you would want to breed shrimps. I suggest u remove ur CO2 system.
*
Hoho chocolate shrimps are very expensive la. For my 2nd tank i never inject co2. For my main tank i did inject co2, after 1year i still dont see any of my RCS berries but my yamato do. Really faint. I always see my shrimp molt but they never berries or maybe the male 1 not strong enough brows.gif

It is risky to put coral stone without a test kit to monitor but if you insist , then put 2pcs 3cm length coral stone in the filters since yours only 1 ft,
for my 50cm tank 2pcs that size increase the ph from 6 to 6.4. Do at your own risk though.
ADA amazonia soil do induce quite low ph initially, my 2ft tank i put BW Humic to stabilize/buffer the PH to 6.4.
*
Thx bro, i do monitor their activity everyday, they much better right now and coming out from the plant to search for the food.

QUOTE(flipmode @ Jun 14 2012, 09:15 AM)
monitor your gH as well. coral chip will increase GH also. my tank previously have 5.8 pH, which is not good for BB growth. then i increase my pH by throw in 7 pieces of coral chip in my HOB. it slowly increase in a week to 7.2. after few weeks, then i realize that gh also increase to 60 (before this it only show low gh reading).Test with API test kit. cherry need a bit hard water, but not that hard... hmm.gif
so please monitor your water parameter for your tank properly if you guys dump in coral chip in your tank.  smile.gif
*
No problem. Where i stay right now dont have seller sell those ph,gh and kh test kit unless i go to penang or ipoh. Busy with school thing no time to pay a visit. Btw API and sera test kit which 1 is better? If i not mistaken one of the brand provide unclear result, i read it from other forum smile.gif

*
Then i will try sera biggrin.gif

what moss and your water temp? i didn't have any CO2, moss is growing rapidly but my temp is 24c. mine is coral . flame & java(suppose xmoss, be cheated 'kau kau').
*
I keeping flame moss, christmas moss, mini java ferns and windelove. 6-7hours of light per day without any fert. Avrg temp should be 28-29 on this period because of warm weather. Any tips to speed up their growth rate?

Another bad news is my HC start to melt on my main tank as temp sometime goes up to 29 doh.gif doh.gif . Normal temp for my main tank should be 26-28.

flame, christmas need lower temp to grow. java is the only moss that grow better in normal temperature (29-30).
want to speed up? take out ur moss and put it in the tank that have co2 and cooler water, after in grow lush and bushy, put it back in ur shrimp tank... biggrin.gif

co2 & cooler temperature does help moss growing. mine got bushy after 2 month only...3 month become jungle already...have to trim down, sell it to my friend who want to start moss tank.(poison him kaw2 to start moss tank..and did it!  rclxm9.gif )

my coral moss doesnt grow since it need cooler temperature..25 below...now it only "survive" in my tank...huhu
*
ic...that one of the reason why they grow so slow. Btw did you put any fert?

This morning sux!!' my big yamato chase down a CRS and eat it ALIVE +]%}"$&@$)& WTF!!!

I faced this problem too. I suspect is water problem which cause them unhealthy and weak. Then the yamato start to eat them. The sad one is you can see few yamato fighting for one. RCS still moving but they got no energy to escape. I also kacau the yamato to stay away from RCS but it is useless, after few second all come again.

During that time can say my whole batch of RCS die 1 by 1 and the yamato whip them all in front of me. I still keeping the photo. sad.gif

They have 2 size, one for 16/22mm and one for 12/16mm.
For eheim liberty HOB & eheim 2217 take the 16/22mm, eheim 2213/2215 take 12/16mm.
*

I just using normal HOB filter only...What size i should get?I kinda confuse and not sure how they measure. I cant get this stuff at my place and also around my campus LFS sweat.gif
