Hi Sifus, i wanted to send my notebook dv6 to service center located at HP tower. Do i need to make appointment before go? Btw, usually take how long to repair my lappy or is it collect it on the spot?

My defect is the fan problem which detected when i switch on my lappy and the message will auto pop up during loading...

You don't need to make an appointment, last time I go, no people one. tongue.gif Usually it takes 2-3 days. It depends, or else you can send it early in the morning, file for urgent, then pay around 80-90 bucks for express servicing.

Any 2.5" enclosure should fit.. no? hmm.gif
*
I don't think so, because there are 3 types of 2.5" HDD out there, 7mm, 9mm and 12.5mm. Mine is the largest, if the enclosure cannot fit then have to buy another again, must do research properly. sweat.gif

By the way, anyone here using SSD? I don't have the product manual with me. Is it easy to disassemble the HDD and attach SSD?

HI Sifus,

Whenever i launch any game by setting the .exe file of the game to High performance in order to utilise the Radeon GPU, it tends to get super hot ..I've set Coolsense to the coolie-st mode yet within 5-10 mins into the game ..the heat just gets intensified ..:-) ..is it a norm?
*
If you're talking about the heat on left palm rest, it is normal. Check the real temperature CPU/GPU with OpenHardwareMonitor so we can decide whether its normal or not. laugh.gif

No you don't need to make an appointment. From past experienced by another user who went straight to the SC, it only took 2-3 days. 1 guy even get it on the same day but he's only reapply the thermal paste.

Alot of us extend the warranty. Cheapest so far is RM79 i think.. but that was 8-10 months ago. laugh.gif They bought it from TechHypermart website. I think normal price is between RM99-RM150.

The heat issue only happened on desktop IvyBridge right? Because the IHS use normal TIM instead of silicon solution and the heat issue only rise when u overclock the CPU.

you are right, 3 year onsite warranty is about that price for Pav/Presario/G Series
if carry in warranty, price will be around rm 199

- sweat.gif rm 85 is for M, B, P & W-Series- COMMERCIAL NOTEBOOK
sweat.gif so much ppl selling and buying wrong care pack- it will affected your warranty claim for IMHO nod.gif

No Sata casing to test it on?

Try reconnect the cables few times. Like giving cpr to the HDD.
