world class athletes train 8 hours per day, at least 5 days per weeks
their bf is nicely utilized with high metabolism rate...all consumptions is calculated and burn out evenly, and they have the luxury of using supplements that may not out in market/ commercially available hence maintaining low bf at certain range isnt problem at all

marathon is more on endurance/stamina
their goal is run long distance in shortest time, not to have big body, huge strength or what.
a big truck with 100L fuel tank maybe not run longer/faster than hilux with 50L fuel tank.
bcuz the weigh vs power output ratio
big size consumes more energy
which is why often marathon runner are more slim than sprint runner
slim is light weight, less resistance hence more energy efficient hence run longer
