Try any brand of diamond sp, should have better resistance to finger print smudges than clear but not better than matte.

Wanna ask how did you guys register the 24months warranty?
I check on Samsung web saying that the dealer is supposed to do the e-warranty for me (I bought this from DiGi) but I still didnt get any confirmation on the warranty.

for what problem? motherboard too? If I'm you and its been in svc center for that long, I would have screw them up and down by now and insisted for a new one to one replacement unit!! I got mine repaired within 24 hours

Added on December 21, 2011, 9:08 amthere could be many different sign according to SC. mine was screen shaking like fuzzy, few times it turned white whiter and then total blank whole screen! Lagging also could be another sign...

i'm considering buying the Note instead of S2 (my wife already using S2, and we love it)...but just wondering about...

1. any issue with the stability of the h/ware and s/ware? any bugs in these early batches? what should i watch out for? read there are some like motherboard problem, some screen discoloration/tint, inaccurate s-pen. any others?

2. how should i test a new set? so far read the first few pages, can;t find a checklist of things to check/test when buying a new set, except maybe screen test mode and testing stylus. any other thing to test?

Guys izit true that some of the widget will cause the Touchwiz to lag when swiping between pages?

Buying gadgets sometimes depend on luck. I always quote my ex boss Mercedes S Class ( RM800k) broke down on highway in a week. Does this means the S Class is a low quality car ? Definitely not. Sometimes QC mid process just fail especially if it is done by a human being
I have bought so many smartphones/tablets past 4 years and only once I encountered a faulty unit - HTC Touch Pro . The GPS chip failed to lock and have the motherboard replaced FOC within 10 days ( and is AP set)
Even the recent iphone4 series many hardware complains - power button, screen yellowish, battery life very much worse - yet it still sell like hot cakes
So don't worry too much about a few users complaining. After all this thread user will post their problems. Users who do not faced any problems rarely post praises. My 2 units so far is superb ( one UK set, another SME) - have no hardware issues, no display problems, no Spen inaccuracy, software is superb - there is no hang/freeze issues
When you buy a new unit , if you are concerned let it be on stock for a week or so before rooting/flash any roms. Any hardware/software issues you'd see within the first week. And DON'T install any cracked/pirate apps as these will in a wauy affect your phone's stability ( sudden auto restarts, freeze hang in midst of operation etc ) and DON'T use any task killers

Added on December 21, 2011, 9:31 amYes - widgets on homescreen will create some sort of minor lags, especially those that need access to internet to update its data. So don't have too much of it unless you can accept the slight lag moving between homescreens

does ur note get heat up when ur downloading games using wifi?

Thanks! it works..now i can play PES12 and GTA3 but 1 more questions, can i create a folder any name and put in all the downloaded .apk files. Will effect the games after installation?

sure.it wont affect ur game.

Yes , it will especially downloading games data - at times can goes up to 50 C especially when the Note is connected to charger. Temperature going up is normal during downloading as the processor is being stress. Even hitting 60-65 some users at XDA has reported - no major worry

no...wifi did not suck a lot of power...im on my wifi if at home 24/7, from night till morning idle,
it will drain about 10-15% only...3g consumes alot of juice....

By the way is there a way i can permanently set my call log history to calls only? the in/out going sms clogged up my history!
