From my previous experience with certain big IPOs, certain remisiers with good contacts either source for the shares from someone who has already been allocated and are willing to sell their allocation for minimum 10% premium in off-market trades. There are other ways, like creating a company.
That's what I was told. But personally I stay clear of these deals because (1) it's complicated. Legal agreement needs to be signed and if you are not a lawyer, you'll likely be clueless on the T&Cs (2) a lot depends on the good faith of "the other party", who is likely to be rich and connected. (3) You need to pay a premium. And did I mention that minimum sum required is RM250k or RM500k? Personally I prefer to go for private placement because everything goes through the investment bank and there's won't be any potential "surprises". The downside is you'll very likely be allocated considerably less shares than what you applied for. |

I dont think Felda Global will be priced attractively for the IPO though. This is because Najib kept saying the listing of Felda will be a "windfall" for the settlers. Based on common logic, a windfall for the settlers means a downfall for the IPO buyers.

From a valuation standpoint, those counters are fairly valued IMHO with MSM as the exception. Anyway, there are two scenarios that are going to happen.
a) The IPO will be priced at the high end to satisfy the demands of the settlers. b) The IPO will be underpriced to create an illusionary wealth effect for the settlers when the stock goes pop on the first day of trading. Felda Global is very interesting as it is one stock that many institution investors wanna get laid on. I will read its prospectus when it is out but I am not too eager on this IPO. Many commodities business are listed right at the peak of the cycle though with PERFECT timing. (eg. Glencore, Wilmar etc) I am more interested about the listing of Khazanah's IHH. |

Compared with FGVHB, 71.9% of Bumitama's total planted area is made up of immature and young plants. The rest are at the prime age of 7 to 18 years. Hence, Bumitama's growth potential far exceeds FGVHB Little wonder that Bumitama's IPO closed with a 27.5% premium above its offer price in Singapore. In my opinion, FGVHB fundamental may not look good, but this stock price not only influence by economic numbers, but also strongly affected by political condition. Since BN is strongly supporting this project, i think they will try hard to make this IPO seem successful. Just my view. is that correct?

this IPO is almost certain making the shareholders money when it's listed but the outlook and fundamentals wise dont seem too optimistic, at least from the prospectus.

As the Felda issue is political, it is likely investors would not make any loss but would probably not make much profit And again the Edge reported..."the replanting will keep FGVHB's profitablity under pressure.... this means FGVHB will need to spend RM2.6 billion on replanting over the next 5 years, the OSK report said. Unfortunately, I do not have the OSK report. International investors will of course do their maths properly before bidding. It is my opinion that the bid price would be at the low end of the scale. Can buy but can not keep.. .
IPO (FGVH) launch this early Jun.. And seems like they offer; a very big allocations in white form/opened market than others company... i think better you all just try when it opened.. try la... mana tau ada luck.. Price around RM 4.65/shares around 50% share own by PNB/GLC.. Boom market around 3 weeks.. Wait untill 'Hari Peneroka' celebrations 7/7/2012.. because they hv announcement/promotions/rumour/etc from PM Najib.. Take profit la a day after that.. jual.. .  Added on May 30, 2012, 2:40 pmi think just 1/1000 person is buying & sell their share based on analytical/index/etc.. but many traders are based on rumour.. This IPO is surely based on rumour coz of political involved.. It will boom,, but not for a long period of time.. High risk.. high return.. Set up your target & sell ; must to play safe la.. .  Felda global is out. Since my money has not gone to GM, I can apply this ady. For those holding GM, wondering they got enough capital to buy? Since GM is listing on 11/6 and with T+3 time to get back money from selling GM, don't think they have enough time to buy Felda, which would mean lesser competition for felda? Another hit and run counter during IPO day. No need to worry about how much the profit or how is the company performance if you're a short term type of player. You just need to worry whether you can get the allocation or not.

1. Lowest yield does not mean actual low yield. There is case won by settlers. Felda understated yield when buying ffb.

FCPO price dropped to lower than RM3k today.. Wondering how ECM Libra give such high EPS growth on year 2012 (36.6%).. ECM Libra gave high EPS growth to let Felda looks cheap on year 2012 but give negative EPS growth on year 2013.

FGV is for the very long term. Replanting all its old trees will take a big sum of money, affects dividends and profits. If u take long term to mean 10 years, we would probably see some down cycle which u might be able to buy at a cheap price. Stock market moves in cycles. The oversubscription by institutional funds does not indicate a high opening price.

Could be good because more chances to be alloted. But also could be a bad thing. People could be not interested. i.e, less demand. That means...... They discounted the price, but only 10 cent? Hey guys just want to check. Is there any advantage in applying for IPO through brokerage houses such as OSK compared to normal banks like Maybank and CIMB. The reason I'm asking felda is my fourth ipo application rejection, all applied through Maybank. I'm beginning to think maybe it's better straight through a brokerage house.

Does private placement through investment bank fall into "institutional investors" category?. Like application through MITI?
If so, more chances to be allotted compared to application through consumer bank (as it falls into "retailers" category). As for FGVH IPO, if not mistaken, 50% was alloted for "instituitional". Only 5% for retailers, inclusive for Bumi and Non-Bumis, as well as, the settlers. But either way, it still most likely depends on luck due to balloting. Correct me if this is wrong. |

Hello traders,
I need some advice from sifu here. I've got 6000 unit but it is through financing. I've been thinking to sell half of it (3000 unit) and use the profit to settle the financing of another half (3000 unit). So when I sell another half, the return will be all mine. Is it ok for me to do that? Is it true the price on open day usually highest and people sell on open day? Since the share is new so I don't have tools to predict how high/low market can go. My shares also do not reflected into CDS account.. Previously apply through MITI and today my remisier told me that the CDS do not have any shares yet.
I took an action calling CIMB Investment IPO Centre and the lady answering my phone telling me that my CDS got a problem. I do not agree with this statement then I call the BURSA Malaysia Customer Service claiming about my problem. Bursa replied that my account is good and active. Previously the CIMB Investment ladies who answered my phone request me to send an email to ipocentre@cimb.com stating my full name, IC and CDS Acc Number. Email sent at 1.30pm today and nothing responded. Then I took further action call MITI at 3.30pm and the officer told me that many people (not all) who pay through CIMB Investment facing the same problem. till the post is written, the phone at CIMB Investment 03-2084 6440 keep engaging. Haiya...Ini macam pun ada ka?My ipo application was reversed on friday...money returned...Today my remisier called me 6000 units already credited into my cds acc. via sms n asking me what price to sell tomorrow...haiya..I said..this must be a joke..but I was told to check my balance...I was shocked that rm27+++ was deducted on 26 june without me knowing it....OMG..I was maybe one lucky bugger that perhaps application was pending so long..perhaps on reserve list..then MBB just deducted(luckily money not used on other purchases)enuff balance for MBB..to autodeduct....haiya..but end of the day...Syukur Allah..prayer answered in a very mysterious way....so how much to key sell tomorrow?????folks .TQ Just to share some story here!!!!
