I think yourtube or MxTube is able to choose the video quality of the youtube video for streaming or downloading. High quality is usually associated with Wifi but I assume if you are on 3G it would still give you a High Quality version if you choose it.

I have not tried it myself but I do have MxTube which gives you the option on what quality to stream. I would suspect that no matter what kind of connection you have (3G or Edge or Wifi), once you have chosen High Quality of your choice to stream, then that is what MxTube is going to do. If he is on a slow 3G network, the the streaming experience will be crappy with a lot of stop & go issues.

Not sure but I can give it a try on my iPhone 4 (just need to take out my sim from the 4s)

High quality isn't high also
