iOS 5.0.1-9A406

is meant to fix the NO SIM problem and yet some users does claim that it help in the battery life also. Some users also do report that it does not fix the "SEARCHING" and "NO SIM" problem. Is a release by apple.. safe to try..

If you're on iOS 5.0.1 (9A405), you need to back up your phone first through iTunes then click Restore.

Then click restore from backup.

Your iOS 5.0.1 should be 9A406.

The firmware is from Apple. To get it all you have to do is restore your iPhone 4S. It's only for 4S
Tried it, did not solved the battery issue. At least for me.

Battery capacity reached already.
The only way to increase battery is for Apple to make a bigger phone so can put a bigger battery.

I tried restore from backup, and i feel as if it helped...but i'm not sure if it really helped or it is just me trying to feel better tongue.gif
So now I want to try restore and setup as a new iPhone, but I was wondering if it would wipe everything from my phone?
apps and music and content and video not that important because can be re-downloaded or re-synced, but what about my contacts?
will all my contacts disappear? how do i preserve my contacts if i want to setup as a new iPhone?

If I use backup then it won't be setup as a new phone right? Yeah i was thinking of iCloud, but wanted to wait for someone else to confirm this...
@cscool, how did you do yours?
