for camcorder u must use the app provided with the rom (absocam) and 720p is still glitchy, 480p is ok.
the stock ICS camera and panorama mode is GOOD! shuttle lag is minimum, and it's one of the fastest camera capture i've experienced (in DHD lah).
almost everything works in this rom, i can't find any bugs (for the moment).

if u want sense there are a lot of sense roms in xda. i've waited for quite a while to reflash my DHD because there really aren't a lot of good / stable vanilla roms yet. previously i'm using ascension from the same devs but that was discontinued for obvious reasons. I don't want a sense rom because it's quite boring for me, been using sense for such a long time, vanilla ICS is a breath of fresh air and it's beautiful. and sense 4.0 isn't as intuitive as i hoped, sometimes i just can't find what i needed quickly (tested it on the ONE X and hated it)

Added on May 2, 2012, 8:17 pmusing Melchizedek (from Ascension team) now. Camera works like a charm, even panorama works. I went to Phuket recently and took 300+ photos using just my DHD and when my friends saw the pics, they asked whether i'm using DSLR camera, lol! best thing about the stock camera app, almost no shutter lag!

only the stock video cam doesn't work, but u can use other apps to record videos. almost everything works in this rom, i haven't tried playing videos yet, because I've got my T. Prime, so no point watching movies on a small screen.

yeah, thanks for the review, pls let us know how long can the battery really last for normal use. i don't expect 2 full days, if 1.5 days then it's ok already. currently using ICS my stock battery can last for at least 30 hours with everything on.

i'm also wondering where can i get a good battery, the ebay link that Nephrite posted was not available anymore (i think).

everything works except video cam (as usual) but there is a 3rd party app for that. and the wifi if u set it to auto turn off, the next time u will need to off and on wifi to get it to detect wifi hotspots. these are the only 2 bugs i faced in this rom.

the answer:

a) have u been trying to spy on your gf's facebook account when she's using it on her pc or laptop? if yes then u will need root access to hack into her account, change her profile and send hate messages to all her ex

b) have u ever been pissed off by ppl hogging free (open) wifi at your local coffee shop? if yes then u will need root access to deny wifi for EVERYBODY so that only u can use the wifi (well...until the manager restarts the router, then u'll have to do it all over again). or just deny all apple users from the wifi, then u won't have to worry about the manager noticing since all apple products sucks on connectivity.

these are just 2 simple reasons why u should root your phone, because u can do lots lots lots more with it.

c) have u been trying to get rid of that nagging app that is totally useless and hogging your memory but can't do it since it's built into the system by the manufacturer? if yes then u can freeze or delete it if u are rooted.

d) have u been trying to make your DHD into a fully automated smartphone that will do everything that u want without u telling it to? there's an app for that but u need root. u can basically create skynet on your phone to destroy the world if u r talented enough. so far no one has succeeded because i'm still typing this LONG reply

i haven't encountered any hanging at all since using this except when i used it for heavy gaming and charging together made the phone very hot and it will self reboot once in a while. u should try a clean rom without any apps and then installing one app at a time to see which one causes the hanging. sometimes if u use titanium backup to restore all your apps it will cause the rom to be unstable. i'm not only talking about DHD, this implies to all phones with custom roms, i've encountered this problem during flashing for a SGS2 non G for my friend and also my DHD. once i did a clean install and manually install the apps one by one it's all good to go

u have to know that the gps in DHD is really crap. the aluminum shell blocks the signal quite badly. sygic still works but papago won't (at least i can't make it work even once in my phone). and if u r in a car, sometimes the tint will also block all gps signals so u'll have to open the window for the phone to lock.

? problems? i've used ICS for 6 months already, so far the only problems i encountered was video recording and sometimes video playback, that's all

then what about the official HTC statement? HTC staffs probably don't know shxt about anything

that's why my next phone will be a Nexus, hated all these BS manufacturers makes up of not giving us updates
