I came in this thread and thought I mistakenly entered Spurs thread. Double checked again....nop, its still the ARsenal thread.
Whoa, this week is really Arsenal week to celebrate. |

yes , man city, if we can hold them like we did the last time ~ but this time + mr vantastic ~ i think we might actually win it =x its a bold statement nonetheless ~ but i really think we have a decent chance ~ and if any of the defenders manage to recover in time it would be better , but we gotta live with what we have ~

We have to take down or at least hold city next match. Because we will have to face Barcelona sooner or later. If we can't hold city which movement is 3 times slower barca then we will get robbed heavily while playing against barca. Those who watch the el classico match will understand what I am talking about. Madrid attack look furious in the 1st 30 minutes but its just the 1st 30 minutes then they lost most of their pace attacking coz to save for defending.
Watch the match and you watch a city match, you can notice a huge difference, city is slower though they got pacey players, sometimes can caught them jogging on the field and their pressing are not too fast either. Against a team like that we have to hold stably on the back and see whether we can score a goal or 2 in the front. |

the main different why v.Persie is different compared to Suarez or Rooney... i heard what Alan Curb yesterday on pre-match show..
is we got Walcott and Gervinho.. cos full back are wary of speed of this 2.. so left room for v.Persie.. and most of the time v.Persie go back midfield to collect ball.. it make centre back have to mark either walcott gervinho and v.Persie.. difficult to cope.. you can see that in the Everton match where midfield is master by Arteta Song and Ramsey.. they collect all the ball in midfield.. the full back have to cover either Walcott and Gervinho.. then CB have to mark v.Persie and backup for the fullback in case they lost pace against the winger... and most important is v.Persie know where the ball is.. he read the game well.. if u notice that when Gervinho or Walcott got the ball run into the box, normal striker like Chamakh or Bent (Aston Villa), they will run toward keeper.. but v.Persie will pull back at the penalty dot there.. so CB are not follow him as all run toward the keeper.. then he got space to shoot... And we are facing the more inferior ones next week. You are not saying that M.City is as good as Barca, aren't you? If you are, then I will have to disagree with you. However, that doesn't mean we have to lose to either one of them. We have beaten both the clubs in different occasions but things changed recently. City is becoming stronger but Liverpool can still hold on to them, that means we can do the same as well. Well, agree or not, if we can't hold on to City this week, we will have to prepare extra length when we face Barca in the future.but i must say that our lack of (actually, there is none) fullbacks available does make for a cause to concern to. particularly i'm really worried by the prospect of David Silva shifting his play to our RB position where he will most probably be facing Johan. i do not like that situation at all 1st of all, it will be very difficult for your noisy neighbour to totally lock Robin out |

QUOTE(liez @ Dec 12 2011, 02:19 PM) well, I compared both the clubs because clearly there is one far more superior than the other. And we are facing the more inferior ones next week. Well, agree or not, if we can't hold on to City this week, we will have to prepare extra length when we face Barca in the future. i'm just saying that both teams play different style of football, so while i certainly not wish for it; failure to contain Man City should in no way be an indication that we will not be able to beat that Spanish club. given the playing style of both clubs and ours i'm actually not sure which club is harder for us to handle at this point of time is Man City not as good as that Spanish club? obviously that Spanish club win a whole lot more trophies than Man City (or everybody else for that matter) so it is easy to say that they are better than the Sheikh's toy. but if they play against each other tonight and i have to choose who i think will win, i'd give a slight edge to Man City as i think they have the style of play and the players to counter that Spanish club game all of the above of course, just my opinion |
