we come to the era which is similar trend during the last time when Console start to replacing Arcade.
TV might replace Movie Theater...

these are all game changer. But console will not dead so easily. Just take a look on Movie Theater, when people though the theater might dead when TV was invented. but is still alive today...

for me
Fifa/PES - PS3/Xbox360
RPG - PC
simple games like angry birds - Ios/Android

in a way i have all of these but no time to play...
last time i dont own much but got time...
its such a trade off...

After some thinking,i don't think tablet/smartphone will replace console/portables.

For Example,

Tablet/smartphone has camera,so why Nikon/Canon are still releasing high end camera ?

Tablet/smartphone can read book online,so why there are still the existence of book ?

Tablet/smartphone has built in time in them,so why ppl still wear watch ? or buy expensive brand like Rolex,Omega etc ?

So i will stand by my opinion,and that is they will never place.BUT they will coexist.

Maybe year 2020,onlive need 10mbps above.U can count how much for internet service in Malaysia for 10mbps a month plus subscribe onlive game itself.I think,own console like ps3 costing more cheaper than onlive.Anyway,sony playstation got psn and their game maker itself like GT5,Uncharted,and many more.Maybe sony computer entertainment don't sign contract with onlive for pblish their game there.
