Undervolt to 1.35V and try 2.40GHz now. The CPU is running real cool, 38C full load during hot afternoon, with a fanless scythe ninja

Opty is not meant for 2.4 Ghz Let's see this screenie HERE (2.8GHz @ 1.46V)I feel satisfied ady Although it cant reach 3GHz easily, but within o/c range, it guess this batch is slightly cooler than other batch (never exceed 45C even during hot afternoon with fanless ninja This post has been edited by charge-n-go: May 13 2006, 01:55 AM |

It's been posted b4. I suspect the voltage difference is too big between the RAM and on die mem controller until some reverse voltage breakdown occur (probably?).
btw, it usually happens to BH5 only ler, bcoz other RAM chips operates within JEDEC DDR voltage specification. |

QUOTE(ikan_semilang @ May 16 2006, 11:31 PM) I have tried 1.568v also cannot pass prime95. After 4 minutes. it's will stopped. Isn't possible because using stock hsf cpu and stock hsf nb? I think it's bcoz of your heat, change yr HSF QUOTE(ichiban @ May 16 2006, 11:33 PM) same result no matter what vcore is. If I used 8 multiplier ,htt can go higher. maybe it is the limit for the processor. May I know what board u r using? Last time i have this problem oso, bcoz of CnQ as well as drive strength. |

Yes, true, Chipset has nothing to do in K8 overclocking, as the reference clock is generated from the processor itself (AMD call it PLL, but DFI BIOS state it has HTT frequency).
I suggest u Scythe Ninja as CPU cooling, elhh selling 180 bucks free shipping. If u cant wait for bulk, arj oso got mah, see his siggie |
