Try out LDT voltage 1.3v, Chipset voltage 1.6v, Vcore 1.45v + auto
Or might swap the ram slot and give it a go.... I'm guessing the Vcore is not enough

opty's like sudden voltage jump for certain batch...not like our winnie / venice days i suppose...can increase little by little for enchance stability

Hmm... i'll try it out tmr, thx

The clockgen in embedded inside the chipset so in theory, feeding more voltage would increase the stability on higher HTT.
aiks, sorry for quoting tongue.gif
The clock gen is actually inside the processor known as PLL clck generator.

Hmm... i found out something about Opty o/c.
I think it's the same as A64 o/c oso, bcoz winc87 told me tis issue b4.

Setting the drive strength at weak 4 and Vcore at 1.48V failed Prime95 in 1 min time. However, when i set the drive strength to weak 2, it failed in 27 mins with 1.45V. Well... now i resume from the FFT i failed a miracously it passed again.

It wont affect the CPU, however, it will affect the overall computer performance.

guys, my 0607 doesnt perform as i expected....sad.gif
now i only can reach 2700mhz @ 1.5*104%
2800@1.55*104% wont pass prime2004....

i'm running 285*9=2565 now @ 1.325*104%.....
any tips for lowering my voltage at high speed?
*
Remember to turn off cool n quiet. Watch the DRAM drive strength too (set it to level 1,3,5,7) if u r using TCCD.

Can u do auto vcore to reach 2700MHz? What's yr BIOS version? Mine is the latest 0406 (ultra-D)

Well, finally reaching 2.809GHz. The RAM oso performing well at tight timing thumbup.gif

Vcore : 1.45V
Vdimm : 2.70V
VLdt : 1.20V
Vchip : 1.50V
Ldt multi : 3.0x
RAM divider : /12 (5:6 ratio)
DRAM drive : weak 1 (level 1)
Data drive : level 1
Super PI 1MB : 29.805s (finally break 30s barrier) sweat.gif

Here's the screenie (Priming in process)

haha, js noticed u r using 0602 batch, no wonder o/c better than mine.
0607 batch seems to perform slightly worse doh.gif cry.gif

muahaha, arj gatal again when knowing 0602 is a good batch tongue.gif

jon89: I'm using the same method as ah_khoo. Setting the basic stuff in BIOS is better. Fine tuning in windows actually saves time in rebooting, but A64Tweaker is not 100% accurate, it's better to test again after u set those parameters in BIOS.

haha, luckily dinster ordered CAB2E 0602 and CACJE 0607 <-- dunno isit correct or not the code tongue.gif
Our optys can reach 2.8GHz pretty easily biggrin.gif

arj, r u using TCCD?

Mine oso same. If I boot CL2.5 at low clock, sometmies it failed. Must set to CL2.0 one.

btw, my Super PI 32MB result :

My TCCD behave weirdly after DDR480, hv to suddenly change to loose timing. B4 tat can use CL2.0, esp b4 DDR470, if not the system sometimes will freeze LOL.. i oso dunno y.

Hey, all the best in doing 290x9 = 2610. U'll have something tat can outperform FX60 already laugh.gif

TCCD works well @ 2.8V and below even for tight timing.

2-2-2-5 is For me impossible to pass 211MHz even with high voltage n drive strength.

2-3-3-6 can run up to DDR468 with 2.70V only.

Hmm... arj i oso wanna know yr voltage, see how's my TCCD compare to yours biggrin.gif

It seems like 0607 CACJE is the worst batch in year 2006 (1.50V can do 2.85GHz only).

Im so unlucky cry.gif

Anyone using 0607 from dinster bulk? Can post any results here?

wow, what cooler u r using? 6000rpm fan but 48C.
My stock fan @ 2.75GHz 1.45V oso not that high ler tongue.gif.

Hmm... maybe yr mounting not tight enough?

eh... mine oso stock A64 HSF (borrowed from fren since my opty is OEM) but only 4800rpm max shocking.gif
48C is really high ler... I've never reached that temp b4 even @ 1.45Vcore, and the PWM temp is always higher than CPU (usually 44-48C during hot afternoon).

I think lys008 has the same opty batch as mine, 1.4V @ 2.7GHz.
I'm having almost the same temp as him when CPU full load (at nite la).
Hot afternoon will have around 44C full load and 33C idle.

All on stock HSF.

nice OC !  icon_idea.gif

Opteron 939 doesnt respond well to voltage, instead they will perform better with better temp.

upgrade ur cooling perhaps ?
*
Lol... i m greedy to get 3.0GHz.

Now already got Scythe Ninja, but never attached with the bundled fan. Just place it somewhere below my CD drive to blow the HSF from far.

I think the temp drops about 4C compare to stock HSF biggrin.gif

VC-RF is also going very strong. With a 1500rpm 80mm fan placed on top of the HDD to blow around the chipset/pwm area, the chipset is cooled down alot thanx to the copper cooler drool.gif

Here's the screenie on full load temp:
